Sounds about right. The West is going to be stacked this year.

Sacramento, New Orleans, Minnesota, Dallas (Full Season), Lakers (Health permitting), Houston and Oklahoma City all clearly better than last year.

Way less than I thought they'd get. Roleplayer and likely two middling first round picks. Hard to see much incentive for the Hawks to offload Trae to the Lakers this offseason too.

So Pelicans have

Dejounte
Jose
CJ
Ingram
Murphy
Herb
Hawkins
Zion

Ingram or CJ for a big has to be incoming next

I guess Daniels' is also included and the Lakers 1st has a decent chance of being a lotto pick.

They do get real thin on the wing then with only Herb/Murphy/Zion and Zion isn't really a player you want actively defending on the perimeter.

CJ seems like the better bet in terms of roster construction though Ingram has more value (And don't see Portland wanting a reunion with CJ unless Simons goes out).

I had Atlanta and Pelicans as two treadmill teams which didnt have a decent way to improve.

I was fairly confident we would see a move like this, but I thought Ingram would be going back.

Just putting off the inevitable rebuilds one more year, although maybe Atlanta is doing it now....could a Trae trade be next.

I don't think that happens unless or until Philly uses its space.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

If Daniels is included I think it is fine for Atlanta and I also like it for the Pelicans. Curious, obviously, about what they do with Ingram/Murphy/Jones.

Hawks don’t have their own picks so no point in rebuilding, Trae is still young enough to build around.

Also Trae without Murray was +3.8 net rating. Together they were -3.1.
