So the Suns triple down on a second apron team that’s just not nearly good or deep or balanced enough to contend.

Excellent strategy.

I don't know, I still think there's a bit of plasma left in the family cat to try and swing a deal.

Due seriousness, happy Royce got his bag again. Dat capsheet though...

I don't this at all and it's not so much the contract itself. Weren't they a 2nd apron before resigning him? This will only make their cap situation even worse than it already is.

I think that’s a pretty good contract for a rotation 3&D wing

Everyone is concerned about the owner’s pockets? This is a good value deal for a player of Royce’s caliber and the Suns had no way to replace him. This was an inevitability since the day they traded for him.

I think we're all quietly rooting for someone to the Dub's recording breaking cap tab.

People are responding to this news like the Suns weren’t going to operate as an over the second apron team all along. I thought it was going to be 3/$45 honestly.

So I think I need to learn more about being "hard capped" because Suns out here signing guys to 10M, Knicks are not allowed to sign guys at the league min

I understand that trashing just about everything the Suns do is the en vogue thing to do now, much like it was with the Mavericks and Wolves last season when those two teams apparently couldn't be salvaged, but bringing back a decent role player on a fair contract is the prudent thing to do for a second apron team. Worst case, either him or Grayson Allen will be a movable contract at the deadline.

Who exactly are the vet minimum guys better than royce o'neale that the Suns could have brought in instead?

They’re just keeping their own free agents that they have full Bird Rights on and haven’t paid cash or made any sort of trade or anything that might incur a hard cap.

Good for Royce, kudos to Mat for determination. The Suns might not win a playoff series, but we just might have a new Stepien rule in the future, to prevent owners from putting their teams in cap Hades.

not sure the about victim complex itt. Nobody is trashing the Suns. Save for one childish post which should have been ignored and was by everyone else. We are just talking about the reality that the rules don't allow them to replace him with anything but a min contract guy so he had leverage on them.

But nobody is trashing your team and that's really a weird takeaway from just the reality of the new CBA. I hope this doesn't become an ongoing issue because it really hurts the board when we have a fanbase reacting poorly to straightforward posts.
