DLo/29 1st unprotected for Jaden Ivey
Lakers gamble on Ivey, drop extra 9.5 million below the Apron, Pistons add shooting, and get high variance asset.

Odds are Dlo is a better player next season, cannot see the Lakers gambling like this with one of Lebron's last years.

Det...sure.

No interest in DLo, I'd do it with Gabe Vincent as filler.

I would certainly do the trade, getting that FRP. But we could turn around and trade DLo as well.

I feel like Lakers would prefer this?

I’m down for either.

I understand the logic but i just think the talent gap is being understated here. Dlo is probably a 22/8 with Detroit roster. .

So Ivey would have to take a major leap to be worth it from the lakers perspective.

0% chance the Lakers would consider that.

Then make it Vincent. Idc. Make it both.

D'Lo is overpaid, if he wasn't he'd opt out and chase a new contract, there are multiple teams with cap space who need a great shooting PG, ORL, SAS, DET, he chose to opt in because he knew he's not a hot commodity, I doubt he gets full MLE at current valuation.
Ivey has been disappointing, but DET was dysfunctional, he has great physical tools, great speed, and great handle to utilize the dribble, he needs a lot of work though, he's not worth unprotected 1st, but we want to combine his value with eating contracts.
It's a gamble on both sides.
LAL need room for MLE/BAE, it feels they are paying too much, maybe DET can kick back few 2nd rd picks, or take additional contract, like Gabe Vincent.

I'd do it. I'm probably less high on Ivey than most Pistons fans, and an unprotected first from a declining Lakers team would be very juicy.

If the Lakers trade the 29 1st it would be for a proven commodity, not a buy low candidate.

In that regard, I don’t see Ivey being flipped for an unprotected 1. I think the pick the Charlotte owns from Miami is the more likely kind of target - top 14 protected in 2027 rolling to unprotected in 2028 - but cha would make the 2028 the lessor of cha/mia if it fell in the top 3
