Curry to OKC, Draymond/Wiggins to Detroit, Klay S/T to Lakers
The Warriors FO doesn't look like its going to be able to build a championship squad around Curry. That PG13 idea probably wouldn't have gotten them over the hill, but now looking at Zach Lavine as the best support piece they can get, it seems like it might be time to go the other direction and look to trade Curry and do some squad building.
GS Trades: Curry and GP3
OKC Trades: Jalen Williams, L.Dort, Jaylin Williams, 2 FRPs (and not the ones with weird protections, but the good ones)
Why for GS?
Rebuild trade. Add some really nice, young core pieces.
Why for OKC?
They'd have their championship core locked in now. Curry gives them that experience and the guy at the end of playoff games they can turn to (with SGA as an elite second option, or vice versa). Already stacked with role players like Holmgren, Caruso, Isaiah Joe, and GP3 can be the next versatile wing to add in for extra depth. Bit of an all-in move for them, but I don't think they can pay all these young guys at the same time anyway, so consolidate and get a top-5 player and NBA legend who can still score 25+ppg and bring gravity that allows others to max out their game.
--
GS Trades: Draymond and Wiggins
DET Trades: I.Stewart and Marcus Sasser
Why for GS?
They go younger and make a clean break from the old championship squad. Stewart is a top-notch bench scorer in the front court and Sasser should be a decent backup PG.
Why for DET?
Draymond should be cool doing his swan song back in Detroit and will bring a winning edge to a team with some young talent that could use some attitude. Wiggins is added in almost like a salary dump, but he can be a good wing scorer on their team that needs it.
--
GS Trades: Klay
LAL Trade: Hachimura and J.Vanderbilt
Why for GS?
They get some value back in return for Klay. Hachimura is a nice scorer and a good veteran guy to have. Vanderbilt is a great defender off the bench at SF or PF.
Why for LA?
Can make Klay happy by giving him the contract he wants (pretty sure he's not going to take the MLE). Don't give up anything too core for him.
GS Roster
Podziemski/C.Paul/M.Sasser
Jalen Williams/Moody
Kuminga/Dort/Vanderbilt
Hachimura/I.Stewart
Jaylin Williams/Jackson-Davis/Looney
D-League: Santos, Quinones, and the guy they just drafted
New identity of the team:
Really good passing team. A lot of hard nosed guys. Excellent defenders. Can space the floor at every position. Very versatile and athletic. Lots of guys able to play multiple positions. Nice rim stoppers at center. Add some good future draft picks from the OKC stash. I could see Jalen Williams playing Point Forward, feeding the ball to Kuminga as a primary scorer and several other guys scoring 10-15ppg.
Most likely they struggle the first half of the season as they try to build chemistry, but eventually hit their stride once the core is found. Make a midseason trades of CP3's big contract and 1 or 2 of the talented guys on the bench who don't grab a key role. End up with a top-10 pick and also Philly's 2025 pick.
Anyway, would be a nice rebuild for GS. Do the other teams go along with it? I don't know. What do you think?

If i'm OKC, i pay significantly less for Draymond than give Jdub and 2 good 1sts for Curry

F no from Detroit. Wiggins is negative. Draymond would be a distraction. And you want us to give up Stewart? Ugh.

OKC if they want Curry finds a way to keep their core 3 and land Curry. First Curry is going to give a list of 3-4 teams he is willing to be traded to, if OKC is on that list I am sure that they can outbid the other teams with just picks alone more than likely.

If GSW wants Stewart, then give up Kuminga.

none of this really makes any sense, sorry. And combined its just a hot mess. Why make the Lakers trade after selling off the other players? You are just adding middling role players for no reason.
There is a reason Curry deals aren't posted. They aren't trading him.

The OKC picks are kind of overrated. Tons of conditions, many happening many years down the road. It's just not appealing for a team that is dealing a super high caliber player right now.
IMO, this would be the price for Curry and OKC being the favorite to win a very tough western conference and have a chance against Boston.
Keep in mind, GS is not going to be bullied into dealing Curry for less than he's worth. He's happy there as a team-first guy. His family is entrenched there. This deal would only happen if GS went to Steph and said they'd be willing to deal him if it was good for them and he wanted to be on an immediate contender for his last couple seasons.
BTW, to make a Curry trade work cap-wse with OKC, you gotta deal Dort and Jalen Williams anyway. I think Jaylin Williams is not the dealbreaker if that's what gets it done for GS.

Feel free to give your reasons why. I'm sure they make sense in your head, but if you can share them in words so they can be discussed, that would be great for the board.
BTW, why would GS not want to get players back for Klay rather than letting him walk away for nothing? Hachimura and Vanderbilt are both good role players, imo.

If it gets to the point where Curry wants a trade and gives a list of teams he is willing to go to (I think that is the only way Curry is traded), GS is going to honor his list and negotiate the best deal they can get. OKC can easily put the best offer of the teams on that list without touching their core and would not be forced to include Jalen. And they can work the deal without Jalen 4.7m, just swap out Dieng or Kenrich.

Thanks for the lecture. Glad to see you are prepared to defend your idea to the death and aren't open to natural criticisms. That should indeed be great content for the board.
They aren't trading Curry.
Draymond would have a market beyond being salaried dumped.
Once you trade your good players, you don't take on role players on long-term deals. Better to use the new flexibility to gain assets.
But all of that is obvious stuff. Doesn't need to be spelled out in great detail.

So OKC lets Curry get shopped else where.
Or you add a Dort(+?)/Dray based swap to the Curry deal if you want to stick with Curry to OKC. No reason to set the market on Curry and let Draymond go for what I think is the equivalent of 2 meh firsts?
Chet/Dray/Caruso/SGA/Curry with a nice young bench, the room exemption and still enough picks to retool around SGA/Chet in 3 years..

I like the aggressive trade. Everyone on the site is to afraid to think outside the box. Would be interesting but I don’t see how it makes sense for Detroit to take on draymond

I'm open to actual criticisms that are supported by specific points. Imagine if everyone posted the way you did with your, "this doesn't make sense" and "It's a mess." I assume that your response was due to my shooting down your trade proposal a few days back, albeit with legit reasons that were explained to you.
Take a look at the other posters points and you can see some valid thoughts in there which lead to interesting discussion. That's what most of us are here for.
Regarding a Klay deal, you think GS is better off not getting any assets back? They've said "reportedly" they want something in return and do not want to simply shave off salary. Obviously they're not going to get a star player for Klay. So what does that leave-- marginal starters and role players. In this case, two guys that I think are quite talented and would fit well into the structure of the team after the trades I proposed.
If you have a better idea for what they can get for Klay, I'd love to hear it. If you think that they prefer to let him walk for nothing (and he would be happy with the MLE) then I'd just disagree with you on principle of the way the GS owners have operated to this point. They want players and they want salaries to be able to trade.
As far as Curry simply "not getting traded", I don't think one can simply hand wave it away. He wants to win, they can't maneuver to get him the guys he needs. They have a young and pretty talented group of guys that they could build with. It's at least worth a discussion on a basketball board.

I think Dray/Curry would be a great combo on the Thunder, in the framework of this swap. The issue comes down to salary, as Curry is making $50M and Draymond $24. OKC is I believe $36M under the cap now, and those players contracts only came to like $20M. So GS definitely can't include Draymond.
They could do something crazy like a sign and trade of Isaiah Joe to a $16M/1yr deal (maybe with a 2nd year team option at $10M or something) and put him in a separate deal for Draymond (where OKC throws in another future pick). I actually really like Joe as an elite shooter, but maybe that's a bit steep of a price for him.

A valiant effort, with a lot of thought and time put in (well done on that end). But, as others have said, it's far too unrealistic to even wrap your head around.
I'm all for a huge rebuild in Golden State, however it just won't happen.

This is the same reason players like Kobe, Duncan, Bird, Magic, Dirk, and other superstars with multiple rings didn't get traded when their teams were far from winning the championship. Their presence alone means a lot more than what the team can recoup from trading them, and their legacies with teams would go beyond after they retire. Those teams would not sour the relationship with those players and fans by trading them and get whatever they can. The only way they would get traded is if they demand a trade, and I don't think Curry is in a hurry to trade him.
Warriors would definitely do a sign and trade on Klay if they can.

Appreciate the response.
How about just the Curry part?
We can worry about where Dray goes and what miscellaneous pieces Klay might bring back, but what do you think of Curry for these core guys from OKC? Any interest? And of course, with everyone knowing that Curry is a Warriors legend and would never be traded without both sides saying its a good thing.

Curry is Curry, but the team construction for OKC just flat doesn't make sense. They're small as is, and then they're adding another small guard? And removing their one 3/4 sized defender who actually has any semblance of offensive game?
What are they going to run? Curry/SGA/Caruso/Dort/Holmgren? All they have at that point is room exception to sign someone, and you can't tell me room exception and vet min are going to be enough to fill the holes on that roster.
In the broader sense, Chuck's right; this is way too large for people to actually critique as a whole. Same thing happens with most blowup threads (pipfan's are legendary). Break it down into discrete pieces and mention it's as part of a rebuild and you'll get more focused feedback. Though I doubt you'll find it encouraging; I'm not gonna sit here and write 8 paragraphs on why these teams wouldn't do this, but if you break it into discrete deals I think most teams' own posters will do it for me.

They are three separate deals. The Curry one is the most important one to focus on. If he gets traded, then Draymond would be next, but the pieces that are connected to his deal are not that important. Just wanted to include it because it would likely be inevitable. Feel free to ignore that part if its too much to process.
As far as not having a 3/4 defender, I think they can grab someone pretty easily in free agency. Lots of vets that are not quite good enough to get a big multi-year deal this offseason that would love to be a key guy deep into the playoffs. Here's a short list:
Taurean Prince
Saddiq Bey
Jae Crowder
Precious Achuwa
Nic Batum
If not, someone like Jared Vanderbilt is imminently gettable via trade.
BTW, I think referring to Curry's impact is being glossed over in your post. He's an All-NBA player that would unlock even more potential in this OKC squad due to his gravity, leadership, and knowledge of how to win when it gets hard in the playoffs. It's really all about him in a road game down 3-2 and going down by 10 points and knowing he's going to help get you through it and save your season. Him and SGA together with Holmgren getting wide open 3's would be pretty amazing to watch.
