Does this mean DJJ is gone? Really like the signing, regardless. This is the POA defender they needed.

I mean its fine money on a player type they need. Could be a Jones replacement, but a Maxi to the Pels deal also kinda makes sense, right?

Man, would have loved for Sac to sign him at that price.

dont think this deal is enough money to match kleber in a 1 for 1 due to BYC?

Tim MacMahon saying this is MLE. And repeating Stein that they are still after Klay via S&T

MacMahon says Dallas’s hopes to resign DJJ were complicated because he switch agents. I can’t say I blame them, lots of things can change in 12 days.

Now I am even more pissed off with the THJr deal. Detroit is so bad.

Feels like we say this 10x a year.

Love this for Mavs. Marshall > DJJ to me. In that system he's going to thrive

DJJ is not a starting caliber player. The importance DAL put on retaining him never made sense to me. Good to hear their FO was just saying that as lip service. Him as a starting player was the biggest weakness on their roster and people acted like he was someone they had to keep.

We are, I think for the first time, on exactly the same page. It looks like the Pistons took the worse player, and opened up room for Dallas to sign Marshall.

I'm holding out hope the Pistons are gonna make a huge trade. I know that's silly, but hey. Hope springs eternal.

Don't hope for anything competent from our FO while Gores is our owner. You'll continue to be disapointed over and over again.

And BTW, we gave Dallas Grimes (who's a solid player) in the process.

Why’d it have to be Dallas?

I’d just stopped having to read Pistons fans complaining about the THJr trade…

Tis the season…

Yeah no reason for Pistons fans to be upset they didn't sign a 27 year old journeyman with no upside. Nor any reason to care Dallas signed him. Odd reactions really.

Spoken like a fan of a good team.

Competence = excellence to the eyes of our fanbase. It’s rough out here.

I think this comes down to how real Marshall’s shot is, I think it’s certainly realer then DJJs.

At 9 million this leaves lots of room for Dallas to use the BAE and get another 4 million per year player. That’s if they send Josh Green for Klay Thompson at 18 million per year.

Dallas just couldn’t afford to lose the POA defense. But with Marshall and Grimes Dallas is paying 2 POA defenders that same money DJJ would’ve made. And both shoot Better from 3 then DJJ does too.
