Good for both, Knicks must get backup center
Deal frontloaded, 3rd year non-gtd

way too much money for a backup center. So this has to mean Chet is going to play some 4 despite the insistence of 5 out at all costs....

Huge, makes them the West favorites IMO. Really only thing they were missing

That's close to the money that Presti should have used on a PF. Big overpay but hope he will fit better than I think. Still great to add talent. Mixed feelings about this.

Huge $ for Hartenstein but OKC can afford it
Have to assume he starts with that AAV.
Hartenstein / Jaylin W.
Chet / Kenrich W. / Dieng
Jalen W. / Wiggins / Dieng
Dort / Caruso / Joe
SGA / Cason
Definitely want to upgrade the backup PF spot but the rotation is shaping up nicely.

Overpay, but worth it. Contract is short enough that they can use him as filler in a trade (with picks) for a true star if they want to

Seems we overpaid abit.
Would have been fine with 75m/3 years but I guess he’s getting more to not close some games .

Chet was +14 on/off in the PO, he played amazing defense, but it was also the fact that he had no backup, team fell apart w/o him.
OKC can afford the 1st 2 years easily with Chet and JDub at rookie scale, but if they want to be serious contenders they need to have very high quality backup, higher quality than the Gaffords and Okongwus, since their defense relies a lot on rim protection when they play 4 guards mainly.

Val got 10m a year. This is a big bet.

Yea I don’t have him as twice the player of Val for sure but OKC should be able afford this contract.
Hope he fits on the court .

Hartenstein can shoot some. He's going to play a lot of minutes, and yes, the 5 out come what may got exposed against the Mavs. They would've had trouble with Denver and the Wolves as well.

iHart is a wildly better defender than Val.
It’s an overpay but a short deal and really iHart is the exact guy that team needed.
I hope they can get in on the BRK fire sale and turn Kenrich and a pick into DFS. Think that would end the summer of moves for them.

It’s better for us than Presti landing Paul George.. But it’s not good for us..
I think I’d rather have seen OKC just do 2yr76 or something where there’s no complications on the 2026 books. but if it’s front loaded it’s only 27.5~ the year that matters so not that bad.
This is what they needed and they have the cap space. So why not.
They locked up great depth pieces, got a probable steal in the draft, solved their biggest need, and watched the Clippers upgrade their future picks.
Pretty great time for OKC fans.

It sucks to see the swat-brothers broken up, but I'm happy for Isaiah. OKC should be a great situation for him and that's a bag we just couldn't even come close to matching. Hopefully they take advantage of iHart's passing as well as his rebounding & defense.

Yeah this is a lot but it makes OKC probably the best team in the West.
Hartenstein had a massive season in terms of impact stats and if he follows that up then OKC will dominate.
If he isn't a good fit then OKC will trade him.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Congratulations to iHart. I knew the Knicks had a limit to what they could offer him but I never expected him to get paid this much. I wonder what his role will be in OKC. How is Chet at the 4? I can't imagine they paid this much money for iHart to come off the bench. Who knows.
I wonder who the Knicks will try to bring in to fill this hole left behind. I love Goga as an option. Not as high on Precious as some other Knicks fans but he would be ok as emergency depth.

This. IHart is better defensively but Val is better offensively and rebounding the ball. Big overpay..

OKC reacting to the loss to mavs. Thats what I see it as, getting interior defense and a different look on offense. Seems as too much money, but maybe knicks were pressing from the other side so yhe price were driven up. Its imo a huge loss for knicks
