Cleveland/Lakers

Cavs - S&T Okoro (4/44) and Niang
Lakers - Rui Hachimura
Rui can get a chance to play a larger role in Cleveland that he doesn't get in LA
Lakers get a veteran floor spacer and wing defender they currently don't have today.
If this doesn't make sense what number of seconds to who makes up the difference?

I can see Rui being an interesting fit at the 3 for Cleveland.

Rui is a 4.
I would do this deal in a second.

Lakers are going to want to send back Vincent instead and that's where I'd get off the train.

Can Lakers do S&T?

Lauri was a 4 before coming to Cleveland as well.

I don't even think the Cavs could take Vincent back in this scenario but I'd love to take back Wood if they wanted to part with him.

Prefer to keep Okoro around, but at some point the roster needs to be balanced.
CLE would have to do this if it were available.

Lakers have 14 million in cap at the moment so I think it'd work.

Lauri should not have been a 3 in Cleveland. I don't want to go back to the Tower City lineup. It was cute after we were bad for 3 straight years, but you aren't any kind of playoff contender playing 5's at the 4 and 4's at the 3.

I like Okoro teamed up with Mitchell for the long run. I think his defense is a positive next to a smaller PG.

If it's effective, I could care less about playing guys "out of position". I can't help but hear Billy Beane, "if we try to play like the Celtics in here, we will lose to the Celtics out there."

Works for me if possible.

I'd honestly prefer the possibility of playing either big or small at the 3. Rui against taller 3s, Strus against smaller ones.
But more important is being able to push Niang to the other team's weakest offensive player, or not play him at all.

I just don't think jumbo lineups work in the modern NBA where teams use pace and space. I don't think starting 3 bigs gives Cleveland the structural advantage many of their fans do.

He may not, but he may prefer to play on the Q.O. and enter 2025 as an unrestricted F.A.

I am liking the idea of Cam Johnson more and more if they run it back.

Pretty sure Dan Gilbert has no interest in trading with the Lakers.

Pretty sure Gilbert wants to make his team better. I don't expect any trades with the Suns, but I don't think he's too concerned about LAL.
