MEM/MIL
Memphis trades Smart and GG Jackson for BroLo.
Grizzlies add a stretch C who could play nest to JJJ and wreck havoc in the paint for Smart who is coming back from a season ending injury and a back up PF who will likely be buried on the bench next season.
Bucks add a starting SG who fits perfectly next to Dame and young PF as depth.
Edit: Sounds like this would be best for both teams as a straight one for one trade.

I doubt there is any significant difference in value between Smart and BroLo, definitely not GG who would be in top-5 of the draft. Anyway, I guess Memphis would want to see first how ready Edey is before giving his development minutes to a veteran.

I have GG as basically untouchable. Just showed too much last year.

A 1 for 1 swap makes sense for both teams as it helps Milwaukee get underneath the 2nd apron. I see Lopez as a good veteran who could help mentor Edey and don't see his expiring deal as detrimental to Edey's development.

I got Smart > BroLo. IF we wanted this trade we would have maybe done something like BroLo/23 for Smart at the draft and not drafted Edey. With drafting Edey I doubt we make a move like this now regardless. Memphis values GG more than Edey btw, no way he is in this trade.

Smart for Lopez should work for both teams.

Re: MEM/MIL
GG is close to untouchable for us given production, age and position. Smart has more value to us given ability to start or be our 6th man. Either way he projects to be in the closing lineup. Brook is a few years older at 36 and is expiring. Edey will be our starter day 1 most likely and Jaren will close games at center. So no need to spend that kind of money on the center position.

You're gonna have to attach an asset to move Smart. Play took a another step back last season, and he's still signed for $21.5 in '05-'06. That's a bad contract.

Smart has a long track history off positive on the court history. No one is going to judge him severely off a single bad season during a lost season in Memphis. He had a TS .552% last year which was his 2nd highest of his career so the narrative he was just horrendous is not quite true. He was asked to be Ja Morant which was something he is not capable of doing.

Lopez wasn't as dominant as he was a season ago, but he was still good, and he's expiring.
Smart was flat out bad last season, and he's got two years remaining. He'd be cut or traded into cap space right now if Memphis could get out of it.

I get it you don't like Smart. This is just a Looney Tunes statement.

Why would the Bucks throw in a frp for a player with a injury history like his?

I can tell you with great certainty that we wouldn’t have to attach a pick to move Smart. Heck Rockets wanted us to move 9 plus Smart to move up to 3. Tell me how he carry’s negative value?

Re: MEM/MIL
I would consider it if we have another move lined up to get a center. Don’t want Giannis to be the starting center.
still learning the game
