Markkanen for Cunningham.
I think this is a very even deal straight up. Detroit can then use Ivey and Sasser pairing. Utah gets a young equal player.

Feels wrong directionally for Detroit. Detroit sucks and is just trading a young building block for an older (though not old) player who will walk if he hasn't had an R+E, because why would he want to stay on a terrible team unless the money is more than other teams can offer? Cunningham may not be worth a max (I think he will be, but it is a risk), but he is 22 and will fit a timeline with anyone they draft in the next two years.

Not doing it from Detroits perspective. Cade fits the Detroit young players timeline and the pistons becoming good again would mean those young players have developed, if they don’t develop we are going to be terrible (already are so no change) and will need to blow it up.

Cade’s ceiling hadn’t been reached yet and whilst it’s debatable how high that ceiling is, Markkanen is who he is which is a good player but he’s not changing the trajectory of the team.

We just committed a big deal for Cade so I can’t see us dealing him now.

Lauri would be a one season rental- we’ve got nothing keeping him here.

It really makes no sense.

Brutal. Cade is the only player on the Pistons I won't trade.

If you are that into Ivey and Sasser, though, you can have them for Lauri instead :-P But that’s a non-starter, I’m sure
