Wow if Philly can get anything at all. Maybe a top 50 protected 2nd?

Hield, Kyle and Melton is a sneaky good offseason so far.

If they can pull off Lauri they are looking really good IMO.

At this point he's pretty close to current Klay. Elite shooter. Defensive issues. Arguably an advantage for GS that he isn't KLAY THOMPSON and thus can be played appropriately.

While GS has done a decent job getting talent they're also going to be very small.

If only there was a Finnish seven footer rumored to be available for trade...

The problem is that the Finnish guy plays like he's 6'9" or so. A very good player at that size, but by no means does he play like a 7' guy.

Minnesota got cash and a 2nd round pick swap (and TPE) for their part in the Kyle Anderson S&T. Would think Philly gets similar for likely is a deal for the other half of the TPE.

So Klay Thompson became Kyle Anderson, Buddy Hield and two second rounders.

Not too bad all things considered

He doesn't? The 7' guy that yams on everyone, grabs 8 rebounds a game even when put at small forward for a significant amount of time, and can switch 3-5? If you just mean he doesn't block shots, sure, but he is extremely physical and a great shooter - he certainly doesn't play smaller than he is, he uses his height to create all kinds of advantages on offense.

Someone's gonna need to explain this to me like I'm 5 lol.

Warriors had roughly 140-145 mil on the books. Salary cap at 140. Melton came with MLE. How did they s&t for hield/Anderson without sending out $$

Sign and trading Klay to Dallas opened up a TPE.

He's been at his best the past 3 years player as a SF/PF. Sure he can switch on to centers in spots but he's neither long enough nor physical enough to really be at his best playing center.

Even if GS gets Lauri, they're still going to end up with Draymond playing C - and I think that makes him more likely to get frustrated and lose control.

Can you now split TPE into 2? Or did they have 2 tpe available?

He's not a center doesn't mean he doesn't play like he is 7' tall. Durant and Dirk used their size to create all kinds of advantages, Lauri does the same (though obviously isn't that kind of player, otherwise this would not be a conversation).

You could always split a TPE into 2. You can't turn 2 separate TPE's into 1.

Of course as nothing is official yet it won't really be a TPE at all from GS's side. It will just be Klay for Heild and Anderson.

Hield, Kuminga, Wiggins and Curry may all score 20 for GS.

Hield will get a lot of open looks from Curry gravity

You’re right on the TPE’s. Could split them into 6-10 if you really got creative…

But that’s a really good point. GS is already hard capping themselves at the first apron with the sign and trades, so no need to think about the new 100% matching rule.

So no TPE’s, but completely legal just with Klay.

They can S&T into salary that starts at 8-9 mil using the left over of Klay TPE, or they can send GPII into other team for 2 2nds and S&T for starting salary of ~16.5.
Another thing to watch is whether they'll pay tax, they are hardcapped at 1st Apron, but they will look to duck tax to reset repeater tax count sine they are very close, they have 167 in salaries, if they trade GPII for Hield ( starting at ~13) and add vet min player, they duck the tax.

I'm not sure ducking the tax means that much to the Warriors. The amount of tax they'll pay this season will be insignificant compared to last year regardless. I also think it takes at least two years out of the tax to reset repeater status. Of course we'll see what they actually do.
