UTA/LAL

UTA out: Sexton and Kessler
UTA in: Vincent, DLo, unprotect 27, unprotected 28 swap, and top 1 protected 29 1st

LAL out: Vincent, DLo, 27 1st unprotected, 28 swap, and 29 1sts
LAL in: Sexton and Kessler

Why for Utah: Get some value for Kessler and Sexton

Why for LAL: Upgrade PG and C

Obviously this is very bad for LA. To try to fix it, leave the 27 pick as top 4 protected. Remove the swap. Top 6 protect the 2029 1st.

I feel like sexton and kessler can each bring back a FRP on their own

I would just drop the Sexton for Dlo part here. I don't think it is worth it for LAL to pay the perceived value difference. So Vincent and a protected 1st for Kessler is the deal here that makes the most sense.

Vincent+FRP for Kessler

Like the premise for both teams, but agree with dropping the DLO for Sexton part.

Lakers could probably offer JHS, 2 2nds, and unprotecting the 2027 1st for Kessler

That doesn’t move the needle for Utah.

I think it could, it depends on what we think of Kessler. in 2027 LeBron will have just retired, Davis will be almost 34 and is injured a lot, and they won't have many picks to try to reload. It's not a sure thing, of course, but it is pretty high upside.

I agree that the rest isn't much. JHS would be the 6th 1/2 on the roster, and while I like him okay he doesn't make sense with George/Sexton/Collier ahead of him in the pecking order.

If Sexton worth a first, D-Lo worth a first.

None of them is worth unprotected 1st 5 years out, combined together, they maybe fetch it, so I have this as unprotecting 27 and swap too much.
DLo/Wood/29 1st unprotected for Sexton/Kessler makes sense...
Or
Wood/27 unprotected/2 2nds for Kessler.

This - there is a big difference between a contender trading a current first and future, unprotected 1st that is 4-7 years down the line.

In theory - the Knicks would have been willing to give up the 24th pick in this years draft for Kessler.

Regarding the Lakers - I think something built around Jalen Hood-Schfino, DLo (maybe flipped to a 3rd team for value) and a top-3 protected 2026 swap feels like value that makes sense for LAL. For Kessler - they have to weigh that offer against the protected DET and/or WAS pick NYK owns and what they can get for Duce McBride.

26 swap is highly unlikely to convey/not worth anything

Lebron will be 41 so you never know.

It depends on the direction Utah takes z- build around Lauri vs tear it down

That's fine. You keep your collection of role players, and I'll keep control of the picks for players who actually move the needle for the Lakers. Sexton and Kessler don't change the dynamic for the Lakers.

Yes to this, also helps us drop salary to potentially open up the TPMLE?
