Cleveland/Utah

Cleveland: Lavert and Niang

Utah: Collins, Cleveland 2029 1st, and 2 2nds.

Cleveland: Get a picks they can use in other trades and Collins can provide value even though over paid

Utah: cut 19 million in salary next year while getting a player who can give value.

No. We are talking about Danny Ainge here. The Jazz aren't giving up a '29 FRP + SRPs just to dump one year of John Collins.

Some Jazz fans may disagree, but I would much rather keep Collins than spend draft capital to move him.

Yep with all this Lauri trade talk maybe we are finally to the acceptance stage this team needs a rebuild thru the draft. Rebuilding teams do not trade draft capital to move contracts.

FWIW Collins doesn't fit next to Kessler but he would probably be fine playing next to a switchy 5 such as Mobley.

I wouldn't trade a future pick to move off Collins. I was in favor of using 29 or 32 this year to move him, but now that we've passed on that I think we are just going to keep him.

No. Terrible.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Despite not giving up a pick, the Jazz need to cut salary less than any other team in the League. In fact we might buy salary for assets in the next few months.
