Based off rumors from Amico Charlotte is interested in Ingram. This has been 2 years we have been rumored to be interested in Ingram.
Charlotte trades: Bridges/Bertans
New Orleans trades: Ingram
Charlotte gets Ingram who is from NC and they agree to a contract extension just shy of the max. They are locked in with a trio of Melo/Miller/Ingram.
Pelicans gets a replacement for Ingram on the wing at a lower cost Bridges. Bertans is basically a expiring contract and salary filler.
Thoughts?

Bridges is more of a 4 so I don’t see Bridges as a wing replacement for Ingram. If there is something to the Amico rumor (and I’m skeptical), I think it would require a third team.

Feel like Charlotte needs to add a first to this for it to be Ingram.
Ingram’s value is really up/down here, but he has to be worth more than the paperwork to add Bridges..

Add a 1st for a guy who is also asking for a max?
Pelicans get Bridges on a discount as he is much cheaper than Ingram. I feel like that is fair value for a guy coming off a bad playoffs and has injury history.

Didn’t look up the rumor, but..
Can CLT pay for a center for NOP from a third team, keep Bridges on a big(ish) 1+1 or maybe a 2+1? and start like Williams/Bridges/Miller/Ingram/Ball with a young bench of group Mann/Green/Salaun and whoever else of their current group they keep..
Charlotte has the pick value to pay for Ingram. And Bridges can hold the starting spot for the raw rookie for a year or two..
Say Ayton+first to NOP, Bad salary+a first to Portland, extended Ingram to NOP? Throw in whatever else is necessary..

Bridges is much cheaper because of known reasons. He’s an UFA and cap space teams didn’t go after him.
If you don’t want to pay Ingram a max, probably shouldn’t trade for him.

How many picks are we talking for Ingram?
Keep in mind we most likely have to pay him the max.

If he’s not worth his future contract, he shouldn’t be a target though.

I mean im willing to pay him but the value has to make sense.
I'm asking how many picks are you talking?
We have Dallas/Miami 1st Rd picks in 27.

Those were the two I had in mind, yeah. “Worst of Char/Dal/Miami” to Portland “second worst to NOP” with some wording that if either don’t convey then I don’t honestly know? Something?
But if Bridges gets it done, great.
I just think the fact that he’s still without a contract despite all the moves last week speaks…

The move here is to loop in the Bucks and send them the 1st for Lopez. Whatever the delta between Ingram and Lopez is dictates the offer to Bridges. The problem is that a team with Zion has business trading for Bridges - so maybe Bridges goes to the Bucks for Lopez + filler and Ingram goes to the Hornets?

Apparently Ingram has a 15% trade kicker? It's nearly impossible to work a trade with Charlotte out of the contracts they'd be looking to move without Bridges being part of it and/or a 3rd team.
With a 3rd team, it should be possible. What does NOLA want for Ingram? He's a UFA after this year and wants an extension (max) so that has to be factored. They don't move him and they would likely just lose him for nothing in a year. Acquiring team basically gets a jump on free agency but I can't imagine anyone be willing to give up major draft capital for this scenario.
Hornets have the following realistic assets to work with for something like this:
Bridges S&T
Nick Richards, who I think fits well with NOLA
Bertans partially guaranteed contract ($16m total, $5m guaranteed until mid January)
2027 Miami or Dallas FRP
Pick swap of some sort
Trae Mann, though I think they really like him
Poku
Micic
I don't picture anything else being moved for him. Maybe Nick Smith Jr. if NOLA wants another combo guard.

I forgot about Nick as a possible filler. They could definitely use another center. Maybe a 3 team deal Miles goes somewhere else Nick goes to Nola + something else.
