LAL/NOP/ORL - Ingram to Lakers

Sending Ingram to the Lakers. Trade can't be done for a month since a recently drafted (and signed) player is involved.

LAL In: Ingram
LAL Out: DLO, Rui, Knecht, 2029 1st (top 4 protected)
Not a great fit, but Ingram probably raises their ceiling slightly and might be someone they can pair with AD after LeBron retires.

NOP In: WCJ, Rui, 2029 LAL 1st (top 4 protected), 2 2nds from ORL
NOP Out: Ingram
Pelicans get a versatile starting center, a decent bench player, and a future 1st for BI. They also save some money this year.

ORL In: DLO, Knecht
ORL Out: WCJ, 2 2nds
Magic get a good perimeter shooter who can also playmake. They also get a rookie that can produce off the bench.

Ingram is a bad fit next to LeBron and AD.

The Magic need to consolidate, not trade WCJ for two players.

After maxing Wagner, and with Suggs up next, getting two shooters, one on a rookie contract and the other an affordable expiring, looks pretty good to me.

Considering how packed the backcourt is I don't see them bringing in another guard unless we send one of ours out in the same trade or another trade at the same time, likely Cole Anthony. Also I'm pretty sure we signed KCP with him believing he would be starting and we definitely wouldn't send Suggs to the bench so I'm not sure how happy DLO would be as the 6th man. If he'd be cool with that then he's an upgrade over Cole but if he would be disgruntled over it I wouldn't want the headache in the locker room.

They dont need more depth. As is they will be struggling to get everyone playing time. How are you going to find playing time for Dlo-Cole-Suggs-KCP-Knecht-Howard-Black-Harris-even Houstan? D-Lo does not make sense unless Cole is traded. I dont know much about Knecht, but they dont need to add another rookie right now.

IMO, they need more shooting. They should dump Cole Anthony on a team like the Jazz while they still still can. Black and KCP can both play some minutes at SF. Last I checked Harris hadn't been re-signes.

Then they'd give Jett Howard a shot before trading for another rookie. If you projected a vet to the Magic that's one thing, but no way they trade 1 player for 2 with that logjam there.

More like Cole Anthony and young guy or 2 for someone

Harris re-signed on a 1+1 contract. They're not going to dump Cole. It doesnt really make sense to pay to dump him at this point. Give him until the trade deadline, either he plays better or you attach a pick or more for an upgrade, or you trade him in the off-season when he's an expiring contract and wont cost much to dump.

Sexton, Brogdon also make sense. Could use picks for any of the three if necessary. Sexton is my favorite target for a Cole upgrade.

You'd probably know better than me - do they see Suggs as more of a 1 or a 2? or do they just want a 1/2 tandem

Right now I guess he's a PG since they plan on starting him and KCP. They're not too concerned with who plays what position, but they seem to like size and defense in the starting line up.

Long term? I think it doesnt just depend on Suggs and his development as a ball-handler, but also Franz and Paolo. In time, they might feel they need a better ball-handler than KCP, and so they could bench/trade him for a PG or SG that can handle the ball, shoot and play some defense. They could trade for someone, or Anthony Black might be able to fill that role someday. At 6'7 he has the size that the FO wants, he showed much improvement in his 3, and played very good defense for a rookie, but wasn't much of a playmaker this season (TBF though he was thrown into the starting line up from DNPs as a 19 year old on a winning team).
