Not sure if this works, but could SA steal BI cheaply, with the Bulls help? Not sure how to balance it, but

NO gets ZCollins and Lavine
Chi gets CJ and KJohnson
SA gets BI

Bulls would have to send out DTerry or JCarter, to avoid the tax
Maybe KJ could be sent to a 4th team?

Picks could move too, but this might help NO balance their team, with Lavine providing more shooting than BI and Collins helping at the 5
SA gets a very good SF
Bulls get shorter deals for Lavine

Doubt SA really wants Ingram either but if they get him super cheap then maybe they think about it.

This is brutal for NOP, if you are willing to pay 44m/y to Lavine, you better maxing Ingram.

Im curious, you guys have 1 max level player on the roster(Wemby) and only will get paid 3y away(when the cap will be close to 200m). Did you guys ever signed a better player than Ingram on FA(probably, but cant remember now). Ingram had a down year, but 2 seasons ago he had a 24/5/5 and NOP made the playoffs, its not that easier get this kind of production on FA. Not telling you should trade a lot of assets for a guy you dont think fit with the team, but if you can get him on the cheap?! Take it and run.

Point is, 24/5/5 are Lavine's numbers for years (not last year, of course), with higher efficiency and higher volume 3 pt shooting. I KNOW Lavine's value is super low, but he is a top scorer. I see if for NO for the following reasons:
-get something for BI, instead of maxing him
-add a below average center, but at least someone who can play with Zion up front
-save $ long term (assuming they would end up re-upping BI for max $ or close to it).
-Add a buddy of Zion and a close friend of Murray (this shouldn't matter, but it does)
-Free up the 3 spot for Murphy long term

Let's say the deal ends up being

Chi sends Lavine, and Port 1st to NO and DTerry and Craig to SA
Chi gets KJohnson and CJ

NO sends BI to SA and CJ to Chi
NO gets Lavine, Collins, Chi '25 1st from SA and Port 1st from Chi

SA sends Collins and the Chi '25 1st to NO and KJohnson to Chi
SA gets BI, DTerry and Craig

Chi goes with
Ayo/CJ/JCarter
CWhite/CJ/Duarte
Giddy/Matas/Duarte
PWill/KJohnson/Phillips
Vuc/JSmith
CJ is an elite 6th man and we save long term $. We'd have unlimited space in 2026 (maybe next summer, if we could move CJ/Vuc's expiring deals to cap space)

SA gets an All Star cheaply, and goes for the playoffs now. They have PLENTY of time to sort out their cap. They could offer BI 4/$160 million, declining this summer as an extension. They start the year with
CP3/Jones/JCarter
Vassell/Castle/Wesley
BI/Champaigne/Braham
Sochan/Barnes
Wemby/need a vet center here

NO goes with
Murray/Alvarado
Lavine/Hawkins
Murphy/Jones
Zion/Jones
Collins/Missi

they also save $. They'd need another big man, but they'd also add 2 future 1sts (one good one with Chi, one weak one with Port).

So their plan is to move off Lavine for fewer years and less money with CJ but add KJohnson with one more year which when added to CJ makes for more money than just Lavine.

This brilliant move has them using their highest paid player who makes more money than the two starting guards combined as a 6th man, which sure must make CJ happy knowing they're waiting to find a team to trade for him and shifting their brand new PG to play the SF, they scarp the idea of moving Patrick Williams to the SF but just so that doesn't look so bad they have a SG/SF in KJohnson backing him up so that there at zero minutes for Phillips to grow and Buzelis who some people (wrongly I think) peg as the starting PF now the backup SF ahead of an actual NBA SF Duarte.

Spurs landed LaMarcus Aldridge in 2015 (he was significantly better than Ingram) and almost landed Jason Kidd in 2003. I'd say with Wemby on the Spurs chances are pretty good Spurs can get a better free agent, or even attract a better player even if through trade. In this apron era, if you overpay somebody in free agency it may be worse than giving up assets for someone who is truly worth it. I really think whoever lands Ingram will regret his contract very soon, the same way Bulls are regretting Lavine's right now.

I think BI to SA, with 4 years/$160 million front loaded, makes a lot of sense. They have time until Wemby's max comes, and could make the playoffs with a good 3 man
