UTA/LAL

Utah out: Clarkson, Kessler, and 2 2nds
Utah in: Vincent, Wood, filler, and top 3 protected 29 1st

LA out: Vincent, Wood, filler, and 29 1st
LA in: Clarkson, Kessler, and 2 2nds

Why for Utah: TANK BABY TANK

Why for LA: Get a shooter and a starting C

Trade could be a expanded to Sexton for DLo, protections on 29 and 27 1st would change to unprotected

Clarkson is not a shooter and Kessler is not a starting center in the league, especially not playing next to Anthony Davis.

A FRP? Sure. A FRP with any legitimate upside? Absolutely not.

Where the shooter? Not the guy who shot 29% from 3 right?

I don't see Ainge doing that even if you exchanged Clarkson for Sexton.

Dlo and sexton peers imo. Essentially comes down to an unprotected first for Kessler imo. Which seems steep.

Oh unprotect the pick they already have. That’s fair.

I like Sexton more, he can apply rim pressure, combined with the Kessler, unprotecting the 1st seems like a fair price, 90% it amounts to nothing, which makes it a steal for LAL, 10% it's massive return on 2 non-difference makers, which is a win for UTA.
Basically a lottery ticket...

You are cherry picking one bad season. I agree Clarkson had a bad year on a tanking team but outside of that has typically been at least a 34% shooter from 3.

With that said JC is probably not a huge need for the Lakers especially after they drafted another supposed shooter in Knecht. They desperately need a center and more athleticism across their roster.

Lakers have the best rim defending big in the league, they do not desperately need a center. They could do with better depth behind Davis though.

DLo is probably the better shooter although Sexton shot almost 40% from 3 last year. Sexton is far more athletic than DLo and puts pressure on the rim/gets to the FT line.

Not sure how you disagree with Clarkson not being a shooter, unless you are strictly talking about his actually taking shots. There is no question he will shoot the 3, but it doesnt go in enough to justify his volume of attempts. The stats tell us he isn't a 3pt shooter. In 10 years he has had 1 year of being an above league average 3pt shooter. And its not even like we can explain it away as him having to take off the dribble 3s dragging down his %. His catch-and-shoot numbers aren't appreciably different the past few years.

Sexton is better than Dlo.

Marginally maybe. Is it worth trading assets to upgrade to sexton? No

They the same tier of guard is my pout. Can rank them how ever you want. Doesn’t really matter there
