New Orleans needs a center. There appears to be very few teams interested in Ingram. So not using Ingram, which center do you target and what do you offer for the center?

A trade both fanbase would "hate" but that makes a lot of sense would be Murphy+picks for Mobley.

TBH, I thought the Pels were targeting a stretch 5 for Zion, though not sure who's available they can target.

I'd be targeting one of the bad EC teams who potentially might want to trade a serviceable big for a pick. Maybe Charlotte would deal Nick Richards? Missi might be able to contribute at some point too.

Toronto and New Orleans aren't plausible trade partners.

1) Toronto is 420,940 under the Tax.
2) New Orleans is 260,644 over the Tax.

The only way these 2 teams can make a 2-team deal involves New Orleans sending > 260,644 and < 420,940 difference in salary.

We kind of need to keep Nick until we know more about the health status of Mark Williams. Even if everything goes well we need a backup. If the pick was good enough we might have to say yes though.

Collins wasn't good enough to start on a 22-win team last year. He got benched halfway through the season and his extension is just kicking in.

Collins was pretty crap last season. I'm iffy on him being an acceptable backup center at this point (I also see Richards as a low-end backup). Feels like NO should be aiming higher.

Yeah, I think I am too high on him. Definitely and overshot the value. Really hated drafting DSJ over him.

But I think he was benched because him and Wemby didn’t work. Think SAS hoped they’d compliment each other enough to overlap - and they did not at all. So he became the backup center.

I didn’t watch enough SAS to really have an opinion. But I still think Collins offers a lot of what NOP needs.

He's not a starting center, he's just paid like one. The last year he actually played at Portland, they had him at PF as a stretch 4 who offered secondary rim protection. He was signed by the Spurs to back up Poeltl. Last season was the first time any team tried him out as a starting center and he was awful as the primary rim protector against starting units.
