Reunion w/ Ingram, risk considered as well.
Lakers get:
Brandon Ingram (36M) from Pelicans
*sign Gordon Hayward and Spencer Dinwiddie
Add a 3rd star at the wing position who can also create his own shot. Health is taken into consideration w/ value given.
Lakers send to Jazz:
DLo (18.7M),
Jalen Hood-Schiffino (3.9M),
removal of 2027 protection
Jazz absorb DLo and Schiffino along with the removal of the top-4 protection of the 2027 1st. They facilitate using cap.
Lakers send to Pelicans:
Rui Hachimura (17M)
Christian Wood (3M)
2029 unprotected 1st round pick
A decent return for what would potentially be a problem keeping Ingram.
Who says no?

Re: Lakers Homerun
If New Orleans isn't willing to pay BI, I don't hate this for them. An unprotected post-LeBron Lakers 1st is a pretty juicy asset, even if LA is a lot more likely than most to be able to reload with another superstar.
I pull the trigger for sure if I'm Utah for the same reasons.

Re: Lakers Homerun
I don't think Ingram is really made to play off of Lebron and AD. Same way there's some on-court friction with fitting his game in with Zion.
The value here seems ok. Jazz already have a lot of guards so not sure another one in JHS would be their preference. But a prospect like that and the protections dropped seems fair value to take on an expiring DLO. Deal might make more sense if they can flip DLO's expiring deal somewhere else just for a different position, like maybe DLO back to BRK for Bojan?
Kind of in the same boar where NOP might want to move Rui for something else here as well. But the value seems ok with what we've seen of Ingram's value in reports.

Re: Lakers Homerun
Think roster balance wise. Lakers should try to offer rui, vandy, and Gabe. Ingram pretty much kills vandy path to getting meaningful minutes.
Either way think lakers accept.

It boils down to Ingram for the 29 FRP and whatever NOP can get for Hachimura. Wood is cut. Hachimura gets moved into space for a SRP.
I think Ingram is worth more than a 29 FRP.

Re: Lakers Homerun
I know it seems minor, but I can’t see Utah being the third team here.
NOP can take back like 12-14 million more and still be safely under the tax.
Like Charlotte trade Richards and Micic for DAR? They should. But even if they require seconds… NOP should be happy with Richards, Micic for “JRE” and/or Matt Ryan.. or whoever. Micic would be a nice piece off bench really. Or non-negative salary matching for whenever they go find a starting center. Unless Rui is supposed to be that matching..
Think value is pretty light for NOP though.. would probably go for a 2026 swap. NOP already has the best of Mil/NOP but it’s still an asset.. Maybe if JHS has some value, he can end up on New Orleans..

In a vacuum the value looks good for Utah, but it kills the Lauri R&E plan (that's what their current cap space is earmarked for). That would have to be off the table for them to consider this.
I'd also expect that NO would want to do something about their gaping center hole in an Ingram deal but that requires an extra team.

Exactly this. The only way it makes sense is if we make a trade with Golden State for Lauri. If we did, then I like it quite a bit.

With Ingram not being a natural shooter I'd almost rather them roll the dice on Lavine, assuming he comes with a 1st for taking the deal
