Cavs: get a championship tested wing while smaller plays better defense. Get out of Niangs 2nd year.

Toronto: get a SG who can play with Quickley and Barrett

Makes zero sense for Toronto who should be rebuilding. We have 2 young SGs in house in Dick and Walter and passed on GTJ to give.them minutes.

Easy no from Raps. Their needs are a starting SF who is a 3+D guy.

LeVert is an on-ball guard, Dick is an off ball player, I have no idea about Walter, TOR does lack on ball creation and could use LeVert more than Brown, LeVert with all his flaws is the best player in that deal.
If TOR doesn't want to improve and would rather embrace the tank, then yeah, it doesn't make any sense, but it's not the signal I'm getting TBH...

yea but this leaves a giant hole at the 3 defensively. We dont want LeVert in a contract year taking shots away from the youngsters/IQ/Barnes either. Raptors dont need another guard

It goes back to what you are looking for? If you want to compete, LeVert is a better fit on this roster than Brown, yes, he is a worse defender, but he is a better offensive player and the roster lack offense, Grady Dick will get better shots next to LeVert than next to Brown.

Defense was a much bigger problem last year though. Team when healthy did pretty good on offense in Darko's system, which actually de-emphasizes iso ball creation.

You're right, 24th in ORTG and 25th in DRTG
It was tanking season, hard to draw any conclusions, if last season was an indicator, neither Barnes nor IQ should've gotten an extension, they lead the team to the 6th worst record.
It was an experimental tanking year, that's how it should be evaluated, players should be evaluated based on fit, I think LeVert fits more, but I'm not a Raptors fan, I may be wrong...

I think you're spot on about Caris' fit, I love his game and he certainly would fit GTJ's role better than GTJ did; Caris posted 16/5/7 with 1.3 spg as a starter last year, would love that on the Raps. My only hesitation is that he's turning 30 in a few weeks and seems to struggle to stay healthy - maybe more of a finishing move than a rebuilding move?

The sample size is small but LeVert replacing GTJ below would produce even better result - I think

360 possessions — Barnes, IG, GTJ, RJ, Poeltl posted a net rating of 13.8, a number roughly on par with the Denver Nuggets starting lineup this season. They also scored 121.9 points per 100 possessions while surrendering just 108.1 points per 100 possessions. For context, those numbers are roughly on par with Boston’s starting lineup

Last year in Jan-Feb the team's ORTG was 15-20th when healthy/not too blatantly tanking, but DRTG was 26th-29th.

I mean, Barnes and Barrett can both guard the 3 just fine. (Unless they're guarding the 4? Not entirely sure what the Raptors' lineup looks like... Quickley/Barnes/Barrett/???/Poeltl? Walter/Dick/Olynyk/Koloko being first candidates for rotation minutes?)

If nothing changes, then I can see something like below;

IQ, Brown, RJ, Barnes, Poeltl
Mitchell, Gradey, Ogbaji, Sasha, Oly
Temple, Bouch
Shead, Walter, Mogbo G-League stints w/ Carton, Chomche, Carlson

Possiblity...
If Sasha is waived, do the Raptors bring back Koloko? Keep JFL?

Other Possibilty...
Once Lauri's business is done, depending on the outcome, I could see the Raps trading Brown for Wiggins or C.Johnson.

My preference is to tank for 2025, though I think moving Poeltl is the only way to do that.
