Don't get it for Charlotte at all. I think they're at best going sideways on court, and the payoff in looser protections is too far out to be enticing.

Can this be made to work without Charlotte? If Miami has to provide more incentive in a simple UTA-MIA trade, then that is a tell that Charlotte is giving value to benefit Miami

Pretty sure the pick we own from Miami goes unprotected if it doesn't convey in 2027. Absolutely no interest here in kicking it further down the road with worse protections. Also Lauri will go for more picks than this.

Ainge will get a better deal than this if he decides to move LM.

This is not a good offer for Lauri at all.

I think that 31 should be Unprotected. Even then I think jazz can do better.

nah, no need to help out Miami, I think there's a pretty fair chance the pick winds up falling into protection in 2027 and conveying a fairly juicy 2028 1st. Deferring it to 2031 gives them way too much time to come out of a rebuild strong.

The players we get are a downgrade too

This is a garbage offer for Lauri Markkanen. Even worse than the Warriors offer without including Jonathan Kuminga or Brandin Podziemski. The Jazz basically get 2 1st round picks, draft swaps that may or may not matter and salary filler for Lauri Markkanen. I'm also not a fan of this for the Hornets neither being that Duncan Robinson is not desirable enough asset where the Hornets would have any desire to help the Heat out. This is basically a bail out package for the Heat without them adding the value that's needed to even get in the range of getting a player of Lauri's cailber.

Danny Ainge never picks up the Miami calls again.

Agreed. Only if the relationship with Lauri sours due to contract extension negotiations, Ainge would be contemplating such offer.

Spurs easily beat the offer with Johnson and 3 or 4 FRPs for Markkanen.

Laura is getting a max, this is his first big pay day. Not much to negotiate here.

Also this offer is just pure trash and thats coming from a Heat fan. While I would love this trade to happen, reality and common sense torpedo this offer.

I like the effort here, but for Charlotte I do t think there is enough to entice them to help facilitate here. Additionally Ainge is going to want a Bridges level haul for Lauri. One good young player, 2 picks and 2 swaps isn’t going to do it. I am afraid Miami just isn’t in a position to make a play for a guy like this.
