Ill offer this idea for
-Raptors get PG depth and take a flyer on a prospect for Brown
-Lakers to land Brown to add a defensive wing
-Pistons add to frontcourt in leveraging cap space to land a pick
To Toronto (Trade Brown)
-Gabe Vincent (2 years, $22.5 million)
-Wendell Moore Jr. (1 year, $2.5 million plus T.O.) *waive*
-Maxwell Lewis (2 years, $4.1 million plus T.O.)
-2025 Lakers or Clippers 2nd (more favorable)
To Detroit (Trade Moore)
-Jared Vanderbilt (4 years, $48 million - 4th year P.O.)
-2030 Lakers 2nd round pick
To Los Angeles (Trade Vincent, Vanderbilt, Lewis, 2nds)
-Bruce Brown (1 year, $23 million)
Why?
-The Raptors get back a 2025 2nd, a veteran PG still in his prime on a reasonable 2 year deal and Moore who they can keep or waive. This opens up $7.6 million more under cap if they want to sign someone with exemption money (Achiwura?)
Quickley/Mitchell/Vincent
Dick/Walter/Temple
Barrett/Agbaji/Lewis
Barnes/Olynyk/FA?
Poeltl/Boucher/Mogbo
-The Pistons add more frontcourt depth as Vanderbilt can get minutes behind Harris at the 4. They can fill out roster with 1-2 veterans
Cunningham/Sasser/FA?
Hardaway/Ivey/Beasley
Thompson/Fontecchio/Holland
Harris/Vanderbilt/FA?
Duren/Stewart/Reed
-The Lakers add Brown who can potentially start at the 3 as the Lakers look to improve perimeter defence. They can add 1-2 VM players to fill out roster.
Russell/Hood-Schlifino/James?
Reaves/Christie/FA?
Brown/Knecht/Reddish
James/Hachimura/FA?
Davis/Hayes/Wood

Youre rigjht, got to add Maxwell to keep Lakers out of 2nd apron. I thought his deal was unguaranteed.

Sorry forgot to add 2030 2nd to Detroit as I tweaked OP to make it legal.

I'm not sure I understand this for Toronto. Is getting a 2025 2nd worth taking on Vincent?

Detroit doesn't need another meh front court player (who can't shoot).

The value for Raptors is they get a 2025 2nd, a prospect and $7.6 million more flexibility to spend exemption money if they want to add someone like Achiwura, Okoro, etc. I dont think the VIncent contract is a huge burden at 2 years, $22.5 million as he's a viable backup NBA PG still in his prime years when healthy. He can compete for minute with Mitchell.

Sure, I assumed they only had 4 guys (Harris, Duren, Stewart, Reed) that could play frontcourt minutes.

I severely disagree about the valuation of Vincent. He is not a player you likely want to to be playing major minutes, but he is being paid like someone who you have to. Injury history, awful offensively, average at best defensively. I am not sure a player like Lewis is a needle mover either.

Last season aside, Vincent was an above average defender with the Heat and that is why he got the money he did from Lakers. He is not a guy who should be playing 20+ mpg. Is he overpayed?, sure, but I dont think by alot as I think he's a viable 14-16 mpg PG still in his prime who can defend.

Injury history? He's got 1 year (last year) where he wasn't healthy. He played in 68 games the prior two seasons, and prior to that he was a developmental type. He's being paid to be the first guard off the bench. Not to be a star.
