LAL/CHI
LAL trades: DLO, Rui, Vincent, JHS
LAL receives: Zach Lavine and Ayo Dosunmo
CHI trades: Zach Lavine and Ayo Dosunmo
CHI receives: DLO, Rui, Vincent, JHS
How much value do the Lakers owe here? I know Chicago isn't looking to move Dosunmo but getting off Lavine, DLO's expiring, JHS, and draft capital could do the trick. Just not sure what he's worth: a single protected FRP?

Re: LAL/CHI
Bringing DLo and Vincent gives them 4 and 5 PGs. So a third and maybe 4th team would be needed to move them or White, Giddey, etc.
Also like you said Dosunmo is not likely to be moved unless those other teams offer something hard to pass.

While i'm sure LA would like to replace D'Lo with someone else i think they're happy with the price and that it's an expiring deal, so they're not paying to get rid of him. That goes for Rui as well. JHS they just drafted, but could swap him straight up for Dosunmo. Vincent was injured last year, but they signed him for a reason, so they're not paying to get out of the deal.
So it comes down to the price of LaVine. Usually the price for moving bad salary is about 1 FRP per year (depending on protection of course), so getting out of LaVine's albatros deal would cost at least 2 FRPs.

Ayo was 17/5/4 guy on great splits after ASB last year, I'm not even interested in including him here as part of a dump. You can have the fake Portland pick instead.

Re: LAL/CHI
Why do people keep thinking that the the Bulls want to have 8 guards on the roster? Do you ever think? The other 29 teams don't exist to help the Lakers out of the hole they have dug for themselves.
Vincent is a duplicate of Jevon Carter he just makes $5M more, they get JHS with absolutely no minutes for him at the same time pushing Dalen Terry and Duarte down to the end of the bench and in the event that Lonzo Ball can play, DLo finds his way farther from the rotation.

In this scenario the Lakers are giving the Bulls value for Ayo. I'm just not sure what his asking price is.. Would you do the trade in the OP with the Lakers sending out a top 3 protected 2029 FRP?

Any Lavine to LA trade involves the Bulls taking on DLO and Gabe. Are you suggesting that the Bulls would decline a DLO/Rui/Vincent trade for Lavine if that was offered today?

I don't really know, to tell you the truth. He's 24, good at basically everything, very long and fast, and on possibly the best contract in the NBA (7M per for the next two years). Like I know LAL wouldn't do this, but I'm definitely not swapping him with Reaves 1 for 1, as a gauge of value. The pick is a start, but I think it needs to come with a good young player - I've seen nothing from JHS that would put him in that category.

Yeah, I think their response is misguided. That's the price of doing business and moving on from Zach, Lakers are one of the few possible suitors and that's the financial base for any deal. At least we don't also have to take Vando, I guess.

As a Bulls’ fan, no way I deal Ayo (with Caruso gone, my new favorite bull). The kid plays very good D, works his butt off and is improving. I want to start him over Coby
I would do Lavine for DLo/Vincent/Rui
That’s it-super fair for the Lakers. I think the Bulls should just keep Lavine for now and let him raise his value (and shorten his contract a bit). We’re not going anywhere anyway

Yeah, as an outsider - I’d be really happy if Dallas pulled off Grimes/Powell/2025 first for Ayo next week. And I don’t think Chicago would do that.
definitely can’t see them sacrificing Ayo to dump a year and a half of LaVine.
Still think there’s a non-zero chance Zach is traded to LAL as a positive value asset in a couple months…

DOA with the inclusion of Ayo. He's not untouchable by any means, but dumping LaVine isn't worth it.

It's the same damn trade every week except this got worse.
Rather keep LaVine than take that and absolutely laughable to include Ayo.

I’d send Chicago Niang and Emoni Bates for Giddy or Ayo.

Not sure Chicago would do it, but Cleveland would.
