Lakers/Bulls

Post#1 » by bgrep14 » Tue Jul 30, 2024 11:20 am

Lakers: Russell, Rui, and Vincent

Bulls: Lavine and 2025 Portland 1st 1-14 protected

Lakers get a point guard with more upside albeit more injury prone. Get a 1st for taking the risk

Bulls: Save a bunch of money and get at least one guy that can potentially be apart of future plans

He started at point for Minnesota off and on during his rookie contract (Rubio was injured a lot of that time and they wanted to develop Lavine's on-ball creation chops).

I wouldn't say he's a point guard, but he HAS played the position. Technically.

If the Bulls are dumb enough to take 2 guards that they really don't want for one, then the Lakers can delude themselves into thinking Lavine is a PG.

This just crazy notion that the Bulls want to keep adding guards with salary to be fourth and fifth or sixth off the bench to help the Lakers just will not die.

That is truly awful for the Bulls. I am of the impression they really want to move Lavine and perhaps they are that gullible, but paying a 1st to direct the best player in the deal to LA without immediate and significant salary relief seems harsh

This trade keeps getting posted and keeps getting **** on because it's absolutely pointless for the Bulls to replace LaVine with guys who suck at basketball and pay a draft pick to do it.
