Help Solve Kessler to the Lakers

Lakers clearly need to make a couple of upgrades, but the most obvious need is a back up C
There are tons of C's available or should be available, but I wonder what it would take to get Kessler. Is it possible to get it done without moving a 1st, but with some creativity
Utah has the 2027 pick that is top 4 protected, what if the Lakers unprotected it or made it only top 1 protected?
Would unprotecting the 2027 1st and JHS be enough?
What other options are there?
2026 swap, unprotect 2027 pick, 2028 swap with top 4 protections, Hayes, and Maxwell Lewis?

I’d want 27 unprotected, 28 unprotected swap, and a 30 top 1 protected swap.

That seems pretty minimal value for UTA.

DLo+Hayes+Lewis+LAL27FRP(unprotect)+LAL28swap(unprotected)
For
Kessler+Sexton

For now lets just keep this to Kessler only
Dlo is seen as having no value to anyone, so I am not giving up our #3 guy in the reg season for no value and then adding vaue to get a guy who is in the same tier as him (at best, maybe not even especially with the worse fit)

Solved: Kessler goes to the Knicks.

That gets you Kessler and Clarkson.

If Jazz are trying to keep Lauri and tank this year for Flagg then it makes sense for them to downgrade Sexton to DLo (an expiring) for pick compensation.
Only way it doesn't make sense is if Jazz don't want to tank this season.

Thats too rich for my taste, but I also see that as an overpay
I dont think we move anything past 2029, nor should we, unless its for a star
26 swap, unprotect 27, 28 swap with some protections and a 2nd is the best I can do in a deal with no JHS
And even then I feel like that is a lot to give up for a backup C for us
Probably best to just use 2-3 2nds and Hayes (plus Lewis if needed for salary) for a guy like Sharpe or Reath
I would bet Landale could also be had for very cheap
Also Robert Williams (but need a 3rd team for Vincent) is an option, albeit too risky for my taste. Very high upside though and shouldnt cost more than Vincent, Lewis, and maybe a 2nd

Maybe Utah get the LAL28FRP unprotected and the LAL27swap(to be used with CLE and MIN picks too).

If that’s the best offer POR may as well keep him.

That would be quite a haul for Kessler. Way too much of course for a backup 5.

A guy who was a recent 2nd and a 2nd isnt bad for Robert Williams
Also you guys have a huge log jam at the C spot, 4 Centers
I did think Williams had 3 years left until I just checked, but still didnt really change my point
Portland can just keep 4 centers then and get 0 value back for a couple guys on the bench

Maybe Utah get the LAL28FRP unprotected and the LAL27swap(to be used with CLE and MIN picks too).
PASS
No need for Clarkson
He is also not a great playoff performer and Dlo was very solid in the reg season for us
Not downgrading on the guard talent in a deal with no wing back and giving up assets to do so
If Kessler cant be had for unprotecting the 2027 1st and some sort of combo of JHS or 26 and 28 swaps, then just better to nix this deal and move onto guys lower tier guys
Cant be giving up tons of assets for Centers nowadays that cant shoot it and arent full time closers
Better value are the other guys if Utah expects a lot
Rumor was they rejected 2 1sts, but could have been 2 lotto protected 1sts that turned into 2nds/nothing for all we know

No contentless posts, please; I think it's a fair bit too but laughing emojis aren't actually constructive.
I think Kessler's probably worth ... two picks? He's a good defensive player but the question becomes ... why does Utah want off him? That would make me balk slightly.
But we all know Danny will ask for four, or three and Knecht.

Yeah, Lakers are looking for a backup C. Only thing they spend FRPs on would be an upgrade of starting SF, PF or PG.
Lakers can still unprotect 2027 FRP in a 3-way trade with Utah.

Unprotect 27 + a 28 swap or lotto protected 29 pick seems reasonable. JHS is not appealing given that he'd likely be behind 4 guards in our rotation in George/Sexton/Clarkson/Collier and possibly a 5th in Sensabaugh.

It was the Detroit and Washington 1sts owned by the Knicks that are going to most likely convey as 2nds. I think two firsts that will convey isn't something we'd turn down.
