Ingram to Golden State (w/ CHI)

Post#1 » by ProcessDoctor » Sun Aug 11, 2024 2:59 pm

CHI out: Vucevic
CHI in: Wiggins

Gets younger, pretend to still compete.

GSW out: Wiggins, GP2, 2025 1st
GSW in: Ingram

Tries something new instead of going the insanity route.

NOP out: Ingram
NOP in: Vucevic, GP2, 2025 GSW 1st

Get their center and another role player.

Who needs to add? Who says yes or no?
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

Fine for GS from a talent standpoint. Probably a little light. Warriors have no interest in Ingram though. Doesn't fit the style. Same way Murphy III is a better fit for Pels, GS needs someone with that skill set over Ingram's imo

What is NO doing with Vucevic? It's not like they can start him next to Zion.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Plan is for curry to be the only shot creator and shot taker?

A player like Murphy isn’t too much different from Dante DiVincenzo.

Start Jonas last season.

Plan is to get another shot creator and shot taker who is more of a threat from 3. They got enough guys that teams play off of and clog the paint

GS is hard-capped at the 1st Apron, and that trade puts them slightly over. They would need to send out more salary.

He’d be a better fit, but GS isn’t touching him either with that contract imo. They’d have to do a 3 for 1 deal and wouldn’t have room under the apron to fill those spots.

IMO, short term strategy will be to move Wiggins to open a guaranteed starting spot for Kuminga - while keeping assets for the long term strategy of going after the next big fish that fits who wants out by the deadline

The value seems ok for GS, but again the fit and direction is questionable.

If they did it, I’d get on board.

Vuc+GP2+1st is largely a neutral to slightly positive if GSW stays healthy after this trade. There's some upside in case Curry misses extended time. Think you're at least a 1st short on Ingram's actual value, which has swung a little too far in the other direction on here lately.

Golden State shouldn't touch this. Ingram can walk and isn't worth backing up the Brinks truck for anyway. They don't need off Wiggins so badly as to surrender a first round pick to move him.

Yeah, I think it’s a decently protected 2027 first. say just top 10 for two years and turns into a second to not impact the 2030 first? If things go poorly in GSW they can tank from 2027 to 2030 with no fear of pick conveying… But more value is needed in OP.

I think Ingram is a fine target. Not sure why he’d be such a bad option playing off of Curry/Dray. Feel like people are focusing a lot on part of his game..

You already got Dray and Kuminga that teams don’t defend out to the 3 point line. Can’t add Ingram to that imo. When you look at guys the Warriors have pursued, like PG and Lauri, a big part of it is shooting and opening the floor a little more for Kuminga

Bad fit and didn't improve chances to contend. Only thing this trade does is make the roster more expensive.

For Bulls, have to say no.
Wiggins deal is longer/more expensive than Vuc

Also, we need someone to play center, and we have A LOT of guys to play at non-center spots
Ayo/Lavine/CWhite/Giddy/PWill/Matas for now will all be in the main rotation, with JCarter, Terry, Craig and Phillips battling for time as well.. No room for Wiggins

And this would leave New Orleans's front court worse defensively.

Yeah. Looks like Gs needs to send out another player to make it work. Thai puts the 2-300K over their hard cap.

Value doesn’t seem that far off for Ingram.
If GS wants Ingram and is willing to pay him then I think it’s pretty fair. For Chicago…they are a facilitator here…they probably need a 2nd from GSW.
