Lakers get Ingram, Reath, Banton
Lakers give DLo, Vando, Vincent, LAL29FRP

Reaves, Ingram, LeBron, Rui, Davis -- Banton, Christie, Knecht, Reath
Lakers get a starting wing upgrade and a useful backup C and PG.

Pelicans get Ayton, LAL29FRP(unprotected)
Pelicans give Ingram, NOP25FRP(top 4 protected)

Murray, CJ, Murphy, Zion, Ayton -- Alvarado, Hawkins, Herb, Theis
Pelicans get a starting C and move Ingram on while upgrading an FRP. They can duck the tax here.

Blazers get DLo, Vando, Vincent, NOP25FRP(top 4 protected)
Blazers give Ayton, Reath, Banton

Scoot, Sharpe, Deni, Grant, Clingan -- DLo, Simons, Thybulle, Vando, RW3
Blazers get an FRP for Ayton so they can now start Clingan without tanking Aytons value.

I just don't understand why New Orleans would do this.

Nice looking deal. Could it be Rui instead of Vandy? Shorter deal/better player

Ayton to NO makes a lot of sense

Well they were wanting to swap Ingram for a starting C. They don't want to give Ingram the 30% max.

Ayton is on 20ish% and expires with CJ, gives the Pels breathing room after 2025-26 being at the 2nd apron.

He's also the right age for the Pels and he's mostly a jump shooter.

Do you think LAL adds a 2028 swap? Or at least a 2026?

Think LAL owes some extra value, but if NOP is really done with Ingram this is an interesting template.

Yeah a swap or 2xSRPs could be added. No more FRPs though

i dont think NOP owes a first in a Ingram for Ayton + 1st trade. I think LAL owes the pick if they are dumping vincent and vando's long term money on top of getting Reath.

Pass for POR.

None of the incoming assets are interesting at all.

Do you really expect interesting assets coming back in an Ayton trade?

If there is nothing interesting, there is no reason for POR to be involved. That pretend FRP isn’t fooling anyone.

The way the pick protection was listed left room, but I think the OP meant the pick is 1-4 protected. Why they put “5-30” and not “5-30 protected”

But it isn’t how it’s typically written..

I thought it was 5-30 protected. Why would NOP trade top 4 protected FRP in 25 for Ayton?

POR would have to take that, but NOP shouldn’t do it.

No idea why NOP would, maybe they feel like the other four starters are good enough that the protection doesn’t matter… I’d say it could be top 10 protected and it’s still an easy yes for Portland..

But NOP is owed value from LAL. And I think it should be a 2028 swap..

Oh man, but imagine if it were 5-30 protected and we got Flagg for Ayton lol.

Do you think NOP will be that bad? I don’t.

It looks like they won’t and we get nothing except a straight downgrade.

No reason to trade Ayton for a bunch of players they don’t want or need, this is a terrible trade for POR.

Both LAL & NO make out well here, POR gets left with the dregs, no thank you

THAT MIL pick from NO is garbage, it is going to NY, unless MIL ended up with #1-4 pick THEN it goes to NO, or in this deal POR, no thanks

What a nice deal for NO they get to exchange a player who they don’t want to pay, who is expiring, and probably won’t resign there, for a starting caliber center who is overpaid, but still produces good numbers and oh yeah, they get an unprotected first from LAL. Lol

And LAL gets what they want, by dealing away a bunch of players that nobody really wants, keeping Rui, only giving up one first round pick, I half expected the original deal to say it was lottery protected

Clingan showed some nice promise in Summer League, but he is not ready for starting minutes, Ayton will take those, Clingan will be the back up. POR can worry about whether or whether or not to trade him a year from now

Lakers get Ingram, Barton, and Reath
Pelicans get Ayton and pick swap rights on LAL in 2026 and 2028
POR gets Russell, Vanderbilt, Vincent, and 29 LAL 1st.

Blazers are short on receiving a second first pick from NOP.
All 3 are getting value from moving players no one is actively seeking. But Portland is getting much less return.

If Vando is considered a bad contract I wish Charlotte would take him

He might be solid for CHA.
