Pass for POR.

Simons has his issues but he’s worth more than this.

IMO your about halfway there for Trae. 2 picks isn't going to get it done. I'm not certain Atlanta does this for 4 picks TBH.
Simons and Mann aren't "young dudes" seeing as Trae is the same age as Simons and Mann is only 2 years younger.

For all his flaws that people harp on we're talking about a 25yo multi-time all-star PG who has career averages of 25/9.5. The guy has made the AS team 3/6 seasons and the case can be made he should have made it in 2 others.
In LA Trae Young would be viewed as a superstar and be in the top 5 jersey sales each year and a lock for the AS team every year.

You have to give up Reaves to get Trae.

For sure the Lakers would have to give up a lot. The question is whether Trae is the type of max level player that will ever win. I have my doubts.

Well that's the question. The leftover team is:.

Trae, Christie, Vando, LeBron, Davis
JHS, Knecht, Wood, Nance
Vit, Bronny, Reddish, Lewis, Hayes

Though Lakers would have a vet min they could offer an FA.

I don't see why any team other than LAL does this.

yeah, between the Hawks not having control over their own pick and having the Lakers 1st makes a deal where Atlanta rebuilds while helping the Lakers for this season extraordinarily unlikely.

This doesn't really make a ton of sense for Atlanta. They own the Lakers 25, so why would they try and make that pick worse? Additionally Atlanta doesn't own their next 3 firsts, so downgrading talent wise for a chance of future swap success isn't a smart move either.

That being said, the value is off as well. Atlanta is only guaranteed 1 first in all of this, which doesn't make it worth it. Trae is significantly better offensively and defensively they are similar (Trae has improved tremendously over the last several seasons).

Yeah this is very light for Trae.

There are at least a half dozen teams that could--and would--offer more for Trae if the Hawks made him available.

The Lakers simply can't put together the best offer for Trae. None of their players outside of the 2 stars, Reaves, and maybe Knecht are worth much, and they don't have a lot of picks. Most of the vets are on negative contracts.

Also Mann+Micic for Russell is a big ole Hell No from Charlotte.

What is this lineup? Deni is missing, no Camara, but where I really lol’d was Reath at SF. I would go bonkers if that bench lineup was ever in at the same time.

And no to the trade btw.

I like Simons but this feels a couple of picks light for Trae. I know he’s coming off a down year, but getting Murray out of the way should help him bounce back bigly for the hawks.

Ultimately I expect them to finish 9th unless they get lucky with injuries, but with the defenders they’re assembling around Trae, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Hawks were a lot better this season.

I don't buy that the Hawks are looking to trade Trae, at least for anything short of a Godfather offer. Hawks historically have been one of the worst teams in the NBA when it comes to attendance. Trae single candidly turned that around. The money he makes for that team is worth more than just a few first rounders.

If the Lakers want Young, the offered price is too low.
Atlanta counters with:

Atlanta sends Young
Lakers send Vincent/Hachimura/Reaves/Knecht/ 29 FRP/31 FRP/2 - 25 SRP

Lakers are projected to have the 18th pick this coming year. Does it matter if it is 18 or 22? Plus those second round picks this coming year might net a diamond.
