Malcolm - Bogdan - Cole

Post#1 » by Syko_boB » Sun Aug 18, 2024 2:49 am

Wizards

Malcolm Brogdon for Cole Anthony

More potential going forward & no reason to hold Brogdon hostage there this year

Anthony - Poole - Kuzma - Sarr - Valanciunas
Carrington - Coulibaly - Kispert - Bey - Bagley

Hawks

Bogdan Bogdanovic for Malcolm Brogdon

Move Bogi at peak value for a plug in vet who should get the ball moving & instill some better habits on the young Hawks

Young - Brogdon - Hunter - Johnson - Capela
Bufkin - Daniels - Risacher - Nance - Okongwu

Magic

Cole Anthony for Bogdan Bogdanovic

Yes, Cole Anthony can shoot and he gets better every year & he can do anything he puts his mind to but he'll never shoot like this guy - an area Orlando was Tragic last year

Suggs - Caldwell-Pope - Wagner - Banchero - Carter
Black - Bogdanovic - Harris - Isaac - Wagner

Washington has wanted Brogdon for a couple years now. They’re not really stuck with him.

Also, is Atlanta really willing to go solidly into the tax for Brogdon? With this quality of team?

Contracts don't work and ORL just keeps Brogdon if they did...Brogdon is a little more of a PG and also an expiring deal (ORL FO is scared of commitment  ). Bogi is an awesome player and Brogdon has the injury issues, but...

I also would contend that Cole might have another gear we haven't seen yet...If he can just tweak his efficiency 10%, he might be the best of the 3 (and the youngest, cheapest, best personality...). ORL seems to have doubled down on "We don't need no stinking PG" with the addition of KCP, but I'd sure like to at least have a viable one on the bench for when things bog down...Anyway, short-term Brogdon makes a lot of sense as ORL hopes Anthony Black is ramping up - one more year of seasoning behind a solid 2-way combo guard might be just what he needs.

Why would the Wiz want a Cole Anthony? Brogdon if healthy is far more valuable and the Wiz are better off rolling the dice on his being healthy and reestablishing trade value. Also, I think they like him more as a vet presence to teach Bub Carrington the game.

Cole Anthony is just a guy. He belongs in the league, but he is destined to be a journeyman, bouncing around from team to team in free agency, making less than MLE money. He is not an actual asset that any team will value going forward.

The Wizards may or may not need Brogdon, but Brogdon is an actual asset to some teams. The Wizards are going to want actual compensation in return - at least a half-decent second round pick.

Lol at the Magic turning Anthony into Bogdan via three-team alchemy. I would say that this is missing two firsts, but the reality is the Hawks just traded Murray and I can't see them being interested in Brogdan regardless.

'peak value return' is not what I would consider Brogdon when he's averaging 45 games per over the last 3 years.
Hawks also aren't going into the tax for what's not considered an upgrade over Bogi.

Why would the wizards do this without compensation?
