LAL-NOP-WSH :: Ingram+Val to Lakers
Lakers get Ingram, Val, Alvarado
Lakers give DLo, Rui, Vincent, Hayes, LAL29FRP, LAL28swap, LAC25SRP, LAL27SRP
Reaves, Ingram, Vando, LeBron, Davis -- Alvarado, Christie, Knecht, Wood, Val
Lakers get Ingram and Val as upgrades to their roster to try contend.
Pelicans get DLo, Rui, LAL29FRP, LAL28swap
Pelicans give Ingram, Alvarado
Murray, CJ, Trey, Zion, Theis -- DLo, Hawkins, Herb, Rui, Missi
Pelicans move a guard and a wing for a guard and a wing but they are downgrades. The value is the Lakers FRP and swap option while not losing Ingram and Alvarado for nothing in FA.
Wizards get Vincent, Hayes, LAC25SRP, LAL27SRP
Wizards give Val
Wizards get 2 SRPs to build out their pick assets
Lakers give DLo, Rui, Vincent, Hayes, LAL29FRP, LAL28swap, LAC25SRP, LAL27SRP

I think washington wants more than 2 seconds to take on vincents second year. They can probably find expiring and 2nd(s) for Valanciunas (GSW?)

Could change Hayes to Maxwell Lewis instead?

Lakers need to add way more here. Ingrams value is at it lowest but he is still more valuable then that package. Russell and 1st is probably neutral. No way you are getting Ingram AND Alvarado(he is not throw in) for Rui and a swap...
Pels are better letting Ingram walk then doing this deal.
Lakers are robbing both, Pels and Wizards here.

DLo is considered neutral across the league as a whole, maybe he's negative or positive to specific teams. He's the Lakers 3rd best player in RS and 4th best in the playoffs. And his deal is expiring.
But he's not needing an FRP to make neutral, he serves a needed role ok the Pels as a backup playmaker. You could always flip him to Raptors with a pick for Poeltl.

Two late SRP's are worth essentially nothing.
From another thread:
The Wizards aren't giving away a starting center on a cheap contract for two late SRP's

Isaiah Joe
KJ Martin
Paul Reed
Terence Mann
DeAnthony Melton
Monte Morris
Georges Niang
Norman Powell
Jordan Clarkson
Raul Neto
James Ennis
Kyle O'Quinn
Isaiah Thomas
Of that list only Mann, Melton, Morris, Powell, Clarkson and Thomas ended up as starters who weren't easily replaceable with a vet minimum type of player. If you want to argue Joe and Martin, fine. So 6-8 players out of 150 picks. That's a hit rate of 4-6%.
And only Isaiah Thomas was better than a 4th/5th starter. That's a hit rate of less than 1% to find a high quality starter.

The Wizards just did a sign and trade for Valanciunas, giving away a 2nd, they didn't do that just to dump him for a couple of seconds.

I figure they'll pick around 44-48th. They might finish 9th or 10th in the West, but only 5 East teams are sure to have a better record.

They traded the Bulls’ top-50 protected 2027 2nd that is highly unlikley to convey.

You can delete everything in my post that mentions that 2nd and my point would remain.

That's not the dunk you think it is. "The Wizards just signed Valanciunas, they didn't do that just to dump him for a couple of seconds".
Why would the clearly tanking/rebuilding Wizards not take a couple of seconds for a 32 year old declining center they just signed to below MLE money? Do you think Val is part of the Wizards future? Do you think Val is highly valued around the league despite only getting a 3/$30M offer from the Wiz with the last year non-guaranteed?
The Wizards just traded Deni, they wouldn't think twice abut moving Val for 2nd's.

Wizards traded Deni for a lottery pick, a FRP, 2 seconds, and a player they can flip. Yeah, if someone offered that for Valanciunas they'd jump at it for sure. A couple 2nds meanwhile is meaningless. In 2023 the Celtics traded the 26th pick for 4 seconds. That's the value of a 2nd round pick, a quarter of a bad FRP. For the Wizards, who have 14 picks in the next 3 years, a 2nd is even less valuable. They'll be cutting better players than they can get with the 45th pick or whatever.

The Wizards traded nothing to get Jonas V and get a pair of SRPs in return for him? Yeah, the Wiz are getting screwed here.

I don't know if this makes sense to you but the activation point for pulling the trigger on a trade is not: Oh we are not getting screwed here. Most front offices want something more.

If that is true they should keep him. Pelicans dont need backup playmaker, they have enough ballhandlers right now.
Alvarado alone is more valuable then Russell, as a backup and as a teammate.
Only thing pelicans are doing with this deal is splitting Ingrams contract into 2 arguable more tradeable contracts. But we are seeing with the Lakers how tradable they are(they are not).

They do now but in trade they lose Ingram, they need replacement.

Let's not overlook that the Wizards are eating $11.5M in 2025-26 money with Vincent's contract. That alone is worth a couple of late SRP's. Factoring that, the Lakers are getting JV for free.
The Wizards decline.

Wiz gave up nothing to get JV, and now you're complaining that they're not getting anything? I mean, if you thought that the Wizards could get something better for Jonas V, I don't hate it.

Yeah without JV they don't get any SRPs.. JV is the incentive to get the SRPs.
