Payton isn't a PG. I'd pass on this. Niang can at least eat regular season minutes and we're not getting anyone back who can do the same at his position. Now, if there does end up being some type of DFS for Okoro move, this starts to make more sense.

Pass from GS as well, Niang isn't worth the salary next year when we have to start paying Kuminga's new contract (and maybe Moody's as well).

LeVert and Niang for Wiggins is the only base that makes sense $ wise, but that's been tossed around several times and neither side seems happy with it.

From the Warriors POV, can’t see it without a follow up deal, or else the Warriors end up with the same problem the Cavs have now and no SF. Wiggins (for all his faults) at SF>no SF at all.

From Cavs pov, would have to look at the financials and where it puts them. If not too deep in apron territory, seems low risk and him and Atkinson have history (as he does with Jama in Toronto who was the main guy working with him in the 2022 season-which makes Toronto an interesting option)

Yeah for GS it would be purely a cap move to free up space under the tax for Kuminga's new deal.

My primary reservations would be around losing your third creator, as LeVert can run an offense, along with wondering which version of Wiggins you'd be getting. Can he be an elite 3 and D wing as he was a couple of years ago?

I think Lavert has been disappointing as a creator since being acquired and between Tyson, Mitchell, and Garland they're well off there while SF remains to be a big problem due to SGs being pushed into that role.

I get what you're saying, but in general, I like that LeVert can bring distribution, defense, and scoring off the bench. I'd be curious to see how many bench players average 5 or more APG last season too.
