New LAL | POR idea

With the news that Vando might not be ready to start the season- how about this trade:
Lakers send:
Vando + Hayes + '25 2nd
Portland send:
Thybulle + Reath
Lakers do this for the shorter contracts, healthy players, and a playable bigger Center (to allow AD to play PF).
Blazers do this for the youth movement, and better roster construction.
Does either team need to add value?

I think POR can do better.
If the decision was made to move MT and Reath, would prefer to move them elsewhere for picks/a young guy we might want to keep.

Vanderbilt has 4yrs left on his deal, I don’t think POR should be interested in taking that contract back
Instead, rather take Vincent back, who only has two years, and then maybe a young player like JHS , Who is behind both Knecht & Christie
Thybulle\Reath for Vincent\JHS

I don’t think Vando is a positive value contract and Hayes accepting his vet min option is likely a sign of his market not being crazy attractive.
Portland could use more of a reason to do this deal. A simple Hayes and small incentive for Reath swap could be doable if they’re high on Hayes though.

POR is pretty careful about avoiding players with off court issues. Pass on Hayes. The incentive required would make LAL balk (rightfully so). This would still leave POR with 4 centers on the roster.

I don’t take on 4 years of Vandy without better compensation than a SRP.

Vando to Thybulle is too much of a downgrade to upgrade Hayes to Reath.
Hayes+SRP for Reath is all that's needed right?

No.
Zero interest in Hayes.
2 SRP is about right.

Vanderbilt has a foot long injury that just had an update yesterday that he is still not ready to play. Not the news that convinces Portland to take on 4 years of his contract with pretty much no compensation.

A late 2nd a long contract on a player who has no offensive role and belongs in a fragile box doesn't really do anything for the blazers
And hayes... lets just say the whole countries bums are keeping oregon's jails full enough already

Hayes just matching salary.
Ok so 2 SRPs for Reath

Hayes+2 SRPs for Reath works for me.

Id be okay with that as well.
I still think Vando would be better for the Blazers than Thybulle, but I am apparently in the minority

A lengthy foot injury (still not recovered after a year) and a 4 year contract definitely scares me.

Honetsly Vando unlocks the Lakers because of his elite switchable defense. They are unlikely to trade him unless for positive value

I think the value is ok for both teams, but i dont really see the point for Portland.
