Here’s the premise of this trade:

• The Pelicans need a center and they are willing to trade Brandon Ingram.
  
• The Cavaliers want Brandon Ingram and they’re willing to trade Garland (but NOP doesn’t need Garland)
  
• The Raptors want to tank and accumulate assets and they’re willing to trade Bruce Brown and Jak Poeltl
  
• The Magic want to compete and get a point guard and they’re willing to consolidate their roster

New Orleans gets Jak Poeltl, Bruce Brown
Cleveland gets Brandon Ingram, Davion Mitchell
Toronto gets Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, ORL ‘25 1st
Orlando gets Darius Garland

The Cavs very much don't want Ingram on a max salary and he's insisting on one.

Also, the Cavs aren't going to want to trade Garland to Orlando. He'd be a perfect fit there. We'd be worse. They'd be better.

Is there a hypothetical salary for Ingram that would make this doable?

Orlando seems to think Suggs can grow into the PG role and are seemingly happy with pushing a lot of the playmaking duties to Franz and Paolo. While some may disagree (i do, and so does Paolo himself) that is the direction the front office is moving in. Not sure Garland is the missing PG Orlando needs.

Not at the cost of Garland, and especially not at the cost of Garland to the Magic (who are getting him for a song). The Spurs would beat that offer.

Ingram's not a great fit with Allen and Mobley and that's with both Mitchell and Garland as scoring threats from the outside.

Garland is a good player, but I dont think he's the the type of PG the Magic are looking for (if they're even looking). I think they would want someone with more size and defense at that position. Not a lot of those guys out there though so they will have to be patient, or they can wait and see if Black/Suggs can become their starting back court.

its not guaranteed injury and game number protections..magic would send goga and kcp when time permits to pelicans and be better off.they are all in on ji..or so it seems...but still see magic pass

There is a lot of protections on that Isaac contract, non GTD years depending on games played. I think NOP would rather have him than Brown regardless in this trade.

But this has TOR getting out of 3yrs of Poeltl @ $19.5 M while receiving a 1st. It seem like CLE, ORL & NOP can get this done
with TOR.

Just another Raps fan that's butt hurt that they traded premium value for Poeltl so they think they can rip off other teams for the same value

Poeltl is a legit, quality starter in the NBA on good value and outside of Allen, JP is the best center on the teams in this trade, a player NOP could definitely use. NOP has Theis as their starting 5 and a very raw rookie as a back-up.

Birch, a frp in a weak draft and a couple of srps is not premium value. Now if that pick didn't convey and the Spurs acquired the 2025 instead, I may agree.

NOP should not want to go with a front line of Poeltl and Zion.

magic picked a direction when they signed kcp if at deadline or next summer it has not worked one of suggs or kcp would have to be moved if interested at all in this kind of move ..i would think kcp,goga,harris and/or first rd picks if they want any starting pg would be first out ..this trade makes them weaker at center ,weaker at defense by a lot..takes there backup pg and 6th man and first off bench forward that anchors the defense for 2nd unit and end of games and makes them have to upset suggs or kcp as one will have lost starting job ..again to make defense so much worse..and then there is a first going out..lot to disrupt do not see magic going for this..

Cleveland is in if you can find a way to swing Black to the Cavs.
Mitchell can run the point, not ideal, but the ball is in his hands a lot anyway. And with Black’s size the defense improves.

No Cleveland would not be in for Black. This leaves Mitchell as the only player on the roster who can run an offense in the playoffs, which will make us insanely easy to defend.
