Interesting gamble for both sides, but I don't see the Kings surrendering an unprotected pick unless they are pushing all the chips in, which requires aiming higher than Grant. Let's see if somebody big shakes loose as the season progresses.

Well they were keen on Grant and Blazers also have Murray (the brother of their young star they probably want to keep happy).

I feel like Tuonami would be a great fit on Kings and he's older at 24 already.

I couldn't decide on the last piece but I could see it being Reath with Kings looking to drop Orlando.

Camara is not available. The way he is being valued here it should not be a deal breaker but he is not on the block. Entirely in on seeing how he develops because I think there is something there.

And am I reading this right, you have Sac sending out ~$25 million and taking back ~$36 million, does that work?

Yeah they are ~$13m under apron. They also have TPEs for the sub $3m contracts.

Camara is part of the valuation, he looks good.

Blazers say no with Camara included

Pass for POR.

Reath is probably worth 2 SRP himself.

This trades POR only playable forwards for a guy we don’t need in Lyles and a guy we don’t want in Huerter.

Ya I am not moving Camara at this point.

I think a trade is there w/ SAC - but dont see it being this large. Probably closer to Lyles + SRPs for RWIII.

Not close IMO.

The Kings package may be able to get them Grant by himself... but even then, I think there would be better deals in the marketplace.

Sac's UNP pick in 2027 is likely a pick in the 20's...

Camara is a nice player and doesn't turn 25 until the end of the season. There is no need to move him
unless there is positive value

I understand fans' excitement about Camara -- I would be reluctant to move him too. An unprotected pick from an average team is nothing to scoff at, especially when the Blazers lack building blocks. From Portland's POV I have this as a close call, not a reflexive no.

And this is the reason the Kings would feel uncomfortable doing this deal. Overall I don't hate it, but the FO has preached future flexibility and this eliminates that for the most part.

It kind of feels like it would sting both teams in certain ways so maybe it's a good effort on a deal.

I would rather agree to reasonable protections than overpay for what I think is the most likely outcome of that pick, something around 15-20.

I am fine if people call me a crazy homer or whatever nonsense but I wouldnt consider Camara alone for anything less than a really solid first rounder. I'm not saying anyone would or should pay that but that's what I mean he's not really on the block because I think we have something there. He isn't just going to grease the wheels of a bigger trade.

Grant himself is a non-lotto FRP and taking back some less than desirable salary. Maybe Huerter is better than "less than desirable" but he's not some huge catch and so I can see sweetening the pot with Murray and maybe Reath or Walker but I'm not adding any other really good player to the mix just to gamble on the Kings winning the lottery and moving up significantly.

Is Camara not being included a deal breaker for the Kings? It looks like he is being valued as a throw in to grease the wheels and if so we can find someone else to take his spot. But if he's that essential to the deal then he needs to be valued that way. It's this weird double play going on "oh you shouldn't value him very much but also we really want him and no one else will do" well which is it?

Kings only need Grant/Murray. It can be scaled to just those guys so Blazers are happy.

Sabonis/Len
Grant/Murray
Murray/Murray/DDR
DDR/Ellis/Monk
Fox/Monk

Or my preference:

Sabonis/Len
Grant/Murray/Murray
Murray/DDR
Ellis/DDR/Monk
Fox/Monk

That’s worth it. A team with DDR and Monk off the bench is legit.

Grant + Murray for Huerter + Lyles + LP 2027 FRP is a deal I would hope PDX takes and runs with.

Albeit Huerter isnt a great roster fit - on the other hand the more shooting around Scoot the better.

And give the Kings some reasonable protection on that pick so they don't end up giving away anything crazy good in the 1% chance of it happening.

Yeah pairing it down to Grant/Murray from PDX and it's fair. Reath is probably worth a second or two, and if the Kings want him they'll need to add that to the original deal. Make the pick like top 6 protected or something.

Yeah I think if Blazer pull out Camara and Reath then that FRP becomes lottery protected or close to it.

Blazers get Huerter + Lyles + SAC27FRP(lottery protected)

Kings get Grant + Murray

Worth it for Portland, IMO. Not desperate to move Grant, but for an extra swing at the draft, might as well.
