NOP/POR, or NOP/POR/CLE Ingram/Ayton

Two related ideas. One simple, one more involved

Trade 1: Ingram for Ayton. That's it. Nothing else.

NOLA gets a big and opens wing minutes for their loaded rotation.
Portland gets a productive expiring out of Ayton that can be flipped from value, opening up big man minutes for Clingan and Time Lord, and getting rid of that final year.

Trade 2:
NOLA: Ingram, Theis, 2 2nds for Ayton, Wade
POR: Ayton, Reath for LeVert, Theis, Niang, Porter, 2031 CLE 1st, 2 2nds
CLE: LeVert, Niang, Wade, Porter, 2031 1st for Ingram, Reath

NOLA: same thing, with an additional fringe rotation forward coming back.
POR: Portland gets assets and exp out of Ayton and revs the tank louder.
CLE: Cavs go for it all trading spare parts for with a starting 5 and 6thM of Mitchell/Garland/Ingram/Mobley/Allen + Okoro. Can't pay them all long term, but this for this year and the next.

If Ayton is really shooting 3's now I like his fit in NO - and think there may be a fit w/ BI going to team X for ballast and a pick.

But this doesnt work for PDX - we would have to cut 2 players. Banton I would be fine with jettisoning but I cant see the FO cutting one of Walker / Kris / Rayan to facilitate something like this.

I originally had Detroit in there to eat the worthless contracts for 2nds with their cap space. I believe you could send Niang and Theis there with the 2nds

Ayton does not have 1st round pick value

PDX TRADES - DeAndre Ayton
PDX RECEIVES - De'Angelo Russell + Christian Wood + 2029 LAL FRP LP

NO TRADES - Brandon Ingram
NO RECEIVES - DeAndre Ayton

LAL TRADES - De'Angelo Russell + Christian Wood + 2029 LAL FRP LP
LAL RECEIVES - Brandon Ingram

PDX buys out both DLo and Wood. Aims to trade Grant at a later date. Likely isnt a market for Simons. I wont bother w/ a depth chart.

NO
G - Dejounte Murray / Jose Alvarado / CJ McCollum
G - CJ McCollum / Jordan Hawkins / Javonte Green
F - Herb Jones / Trey Murphy / Antonio Reeves
F - Zion Williamson / Trey Murphy / JRE
C - DeAndre Ayton / Yves Missi / Daniel Theis / Karlo Matkovic

LAL
G - Gabe Vincent / Austin Reaves / JHS / Bronny James
F - Brandon Ingram / Max Christie / Austin Reaves
F - LeBron James / Dalton Knetch / Maxwell Lewis
F - Jarred Vanderbilt / Rui Hachimura / Cam Reddish
C - Anthony Davis / Jaxton Hayes / Colin Castlerton

If NO isn’t so hot on giving Ingram a huge deal, why would they deal his expiring for Ayton and keep that huge deal on the books an extra year.

The Cavs are going to give their current core at least until the deadline with a new coach. If they feel like they have to shake things up, they'll likely move one of the their core. No point in trading unprotected 1sts that convey six years from now when you can't afford to retain Ingram anyway. Portland just gets cut out here.

New Orleans trading Ingram for Ayton would be ... I guess the dumbest move since Washington signed Beal to that contract with an NTC.
