Good move on both sides. Moody hasn't done much so this will likely be an overpay, but has the chance for some real value if he finally lives up to his draft potential.

He’ll play SG and SF. Good deal.
This also basically guarantees a Wiggins trade this season. No minutes there to justify his $27M salary.
GSW are currently over the tax this year, and they’re gonna need to dump Wiggins for a cheaper starting C or POA defender.

I like him, think he can be more than he's shown.

Warriors been over the tax for years. They're slightly over now and don't fear it. If the team stinks, there are several smaller deals to dump at less cost. Plenty of minutes and role for Wiggins. May still be the starter at the 3 or the number 2 scorer if he can reclaim some of the 2022 magic post his personal tragedy. Will be interesting to see who can solidify their place between him and Kuminga

"Key, reliable rotation player for Kerr"

This guy is better than I thought he'd be coming out of college. He should be starting somewhere IMO.

Precious key that he doesn’t want use often.
Good deal for GSW.
Good deal for Moody.
Everyone wins.

I think these 3 yr MLE sized extensions should become popular for promising yet not established player, sizable enough financial security, and a chance at unrestricted FA early, much better than the QO/waiting for offer sheet dance, which is becoming less and less popular, I expect 3rd year to be player option.
Josh Green got one, Cole Anthony got one and now Moody got one...
MLE being a TPE makes trading these guys easy (e.g. Josh Green), and helps the team S&T for FAs.

Moody is better than Green, so I think this was a smart enough move for GSW

I don't think there is a player option.

I'm fine with the money, and if he makes a leap this season the Warriors will be glad they did it, but this basically removes him as a sweetener with respect to a bigger in-season trade. I'm not sure that part of it is good risk management given Curry's age.

Okoro too.
But yeah, I like these deals both ways. Moody gets life-changing money now and will be a free agent again at 26 if he outplays this deal. Warriors get Moody locked up long-term on MLE-ish money with a good chance that he'll outperform that number if Kerr ever lets him see the floor.

I don't think our FO really ever actually intended to make that kind of deal unless it was wildly lopsided in our favor.
