Lakers-Bulls (Jan 15)

Post#1 » by zimpy27 » Mon Oct 21, 2024 4:49 am

Lakers get Lonzo, Vucevic
Lonzo, Reaves, LeBron, Davis, Vuc -- Gabe, JHS, Knecht, Vando, Wood
This happens at Jan 15 as long as everyone in the deal is not majorly injured at that point.
Lakers get size in the starting unit and guard defense upgrade.

Bulls get DLo, Rui, Christie, LAC25SRP, LAL27SRP
Bulls do this to get value from an expiring Lonzo. The value is that they get Rui+Christie and 2xSRPs while moving off Vucevic. DLo is really seen as an expiring role on the Bulls but could be flipped to 3rd team involved in deal.

I'm intrigued by the getting off Vuc aspect especially if D'Lo can be moved to a 3rd team for something (Preferably someone of size so we have more than just Jalen Smith at C).

This makes sense. What age range you looking for?

For mine a young big would be good but anyone with size so Smith doesn't get run into the ground.

The time for the Bulls to get value from Lonzo has LONG since past, before they paid him $60 million for not playing

A pair of 2nds to a team that has had 6 2nd round picks in 10 years with Dosunmu working out, Gafford not until he was traded, Phillips we'll see and Bell's pick being traded on draft night. They haven't been that great in the 1st round.

They give up Lonzo for a lesser DLO expiring,. It's Vucevic for Rui and Christie who would struggle to get minutes and they would be left with Jalen Smith as their starting and ONLY center.

I would rather finish the year with a healthy Ball and hope he wants to stay with the team that stood by him for his next contract.

No not the deal the Bulls are looking for.

I'd argue the Bulls should do this regardless, but I suspect that it will depend on their W-L record.
