Oprah running the league today I guess

I like this one better than many others. $30M/yr is 3rd best player money and Johnson can be that on a good team - possibly more than that.

Yeah, if you're going to commit to a $30M average, it's better to at least get the chance that the last couple of years will look good once the new TV deal kicks in.

This feels a lot better than I felled after John Collins got his deal. IMO real good chance he outplays this deal.

If he can keep improving this is a very good deal.
Don’t see much downside to this even if he make just small improvement to his game.

Does anyone think this makes the Franz rookie max seem like a lot? I like franz a lot but I don’t think he’s 75m/5yrs better than Jalen Johnson and they have pretty similar upside

5 years gets you value in those last years.

Yeah Jalen Johnson is an awesome young player. Well worth this deal already.

This is awesome JJ is my favorite player on the team so im thrilled he is staying with us and locked in for the next 5 years. Another thing i like is with him making that much money their is a high chance he is pushed as more of a focal point of our team and treated as such. He probably becomes our #2 player which i think he will strive as and be a 20+ 10+ guy yearly if not better.

I couldn't tell you which I'd prefer more. Both are so even IMO and it's cool they both got the same amount.

30 million for a good starter is a bad deal though, at least Jalen Johnson has flashed some offensive game. Flat out he might be a better playmaker than Suggs and easily a better scorer.

I agree I think the NBA is a little weird the Eastern teams play before we get off work and the Western teams play when the east coasters are in bed. Also, the Hawks are rarely on TV in the west.

I ain't buying lg pass to see more Hawks games. Their local fans don't even want to watch them play lol OKC and Mavs games selling league pass imo.
