This is team friendly. Nuggets must be relieved.

15%
18.8%
18.4%
18% (player option)

I like this less with the opt-in. a flat-ish deal between $30-35M for the next four years would've been high but fine. now it's looking closer to 35-40M in the later years of this deal which will make it tougher to move when the window closes. not to mention the trade kicker.

but I guess this option saves Denver a bunch of luxury tax next season

Not just tax, regular structure puts them right at or over the 2nd Apron, this way they can stay below the 2nd Apron.

Sounds like short term gain and long term pain, so okay for the Nuggets I guess. Still seems heavy for a guy who's basically a role players in a spot that maximizes him.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

In grand scheme of things, Gordon was harder to replace than KCP. Think Denver did as well as they could this offseason.

I think you have to do this as both of them. Solid deal.
