Does Zubac getting that massive double double mean the Dubs need more size?

Was it Kerr’s plan to basically let Zubac do whatever he wanted? When Looney is on the floor, teams tend to go straight to the basket without fear of a shot blocker or being knocked on their butts. The Dubs title teams had enforcers, this team no one is scared to go down the lane.

Dubs incoming players: Steven Adams and Delano Blanton
Dubs outgoing players: Looney and Payton
Dubs outgoing picks: future first to Blazers

Rockets incoming players: Robert Williams
Rockets outgoing players: Steven Adams

Blazers incoming players: Looney and Payton
Blazers outgoing players: Robert Williams
Blazers incoming draft pick: future first from Dubs

Why for Blazers, acquiring draft picks is their ideal trade plus ending contracts.

Why for Rockets, Williams fits into the younger team and is a massive upgrade defensively over Sengun.

Why for Dubs, just rebound, defend, clog the lane, kick somebody’s in the nuts, and he is the type of veteran that this little team needs.

No reason for the Warriors to be paying a 1st rounder here.

Yeah this really only makes sense for Portland. Timelord isn't worth expirings and a first and he's not an upgrade over Adams until he proves he can actually stay on the court for an extended period.

There is no way on earth POR is taking Payton back after the BS associated with his exit.

They are for a first for a player with no value in Robert Williams III

Not giving a first for Steven Adams. People seem to forget guys like Bogut, JaVale and Zaza didn’t get big minutes when it mattered. Warriors went small and ran ineffective bigs off the court. Can’t really do that anymore, but a bruiser like Adams isn’t the answer. Current roster needs a stretch big or a rim runner with size

Yup they could cut GP2 before he even leaves for the airport and still come out way ahead.

I was not disputing the value, only GPS bogus claims against POR as he crop dusted the franchise on his way out the door.

This doesn't prevent a trade though.

Kerr doesn't like playing anyone who's taller than he is.

I disagree.

Just me, personally, but Kerr should probably double the post rather than surrendering a first for centers who have barely played since the 2022-23 season.

With Wiggins starting off nicely this year I do think it makes sense for the Dubs to make some kind of trade. Center is obviously the weakest spot, but the type of guy that fits the Warriors are generally in short supply and have high costs.

So I like the idea of going after a center, but I don't think I would give up Adams for a 1st. I would be willing to listen to various trades/offers that involve getting a center back for Kuminga/filler. I'd have to think about whether Adams actually fits the dubs though, as he is more of a drop coverage guy.

Does Zubac getting that massive double double mean the Dubs will pay a 1st rounder for my team's 3rd stringers.

No.

Warriors can obviously do better for this cost.

'full size' centers who can do what GS wants out of the position are rare and their current reams really want to keep them.

Keep in mind that GS wasn't exactly huge inside in 2022. Bjelica was the 9th man in a 8.5 man playoff rotation and even he was a PF most of his career. Outside of that it was Looney, Draymond and Otto Porter.

I think guys that fit Golden State are Nance, WCJ, Wagner, and Lopez. Out of those Nance is probably the most available? Maybe Bitazde could also be a decent fit?

Lopez would be the dream, but I don't see any realistic way to get him. Pretty sure WCJ is ineligible to be traded this year because of his extension?

Would also be interested in Nance if he became available.

You might be right on WCJ. I could see Lopez IF Wiggins continues to play well and Milwaukee decides they need to get a bit younger and would like a wing.
