Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Value

With the unfortunate news regarding Paolo Banchero missing a majority of the season, KCP is a player Orlando could shop to a contender for value.
The Lakers and that reunion makes sense on paper with Reaves evolution and emergence as a pseudo-PG.
The Milwaukee Bucks could utilize his presence.
What other contenders could trade for him?
Would Orlando consider moving him?

While Banchero could end up missing the majority of the season, the current 4-6 week evaluation period is not close to the majority of the season. They should wait that time before really deciding anything.

Orlando is also a fairly deep team and the bottom of the East is bad. Even 6 weeks is not going to kill their season.

They can't trade him until mid-Dec right? So that would be after Paolo's evaluation period.

This is such an overreaction lol, it’s actually quite the contrary. Orlando will now rely on KCP for some offensive production. Scoring will come by committee and KCP will be needed more than ever now.

ORL has some depth, they should play to win and re-evaluate when PBs condition is updated.

Russell and Vincent for KCP and Joseph. You could use Russell for the scoring deficit created by Banchero's absence. DLO is also a more natural point guard than Suggs, so you could slide Jalen over to KCP's vacated spot. You could always let Dlo walk after the season if you don't like him. Vincent and Joseph are cap fillers, but maybe Vincent will improve with a fresh start back in Florida.

Vincent's extra year at 11.5M means something is missing here for Orlando to take that on.

At 31, KCP's contract is looking rough right now too though. Lakers hope a return to Los Angeles would help rejuvenate him, and are willing to take the gamble. We don't have a 2025 1st to trade, but we do have the Clippers 2nd, which is projected to be in the 30s, so it's a good 2nd round pick. Maybe Lakers would include that.

KCP is 31, not 41. and its only a 3 year deal. ORlando doesnt need more 2nds

If after December 15 it looks like Paolo looks to be out an extended time would Orlando be interested in Jerami Grant for KCP Denver's 2025 first and a future 2nd?

Fair enough. What are the goals for Orlando right now? Are the Magic trying to win still, or tank?

Is it? I think most teams would be fine with it.

I don't see a value gap between KCP and Grant.

I'm willing to go out on a limb that after being an above average 3 point shooter for the past 6-7 yrs, he didn't suddenly forget how to shoot and he's in a 6 game slump he'll bounce out of at some point

I don't see them trading him, and Dallas can't really make a compelling salary matching offer. But I'd love him in Dallas. And I have long term crow to eat on this guy. I did not forwsee him becoming such a valuable member of championship squads.
But Orlando should keep him even if the Banchero news means they are fighting for a lower seed this year.

I don't understand the need for ORL to call it a season? They can still make the playoffs\play in and Banchero could be back in JAN\FEB, if everything goes well?
Maybe they should use some of their non-rotation players, draft capital and space under the luxury tax to trade for a player or two who could help keep them competitive until Banchero gets back?
