Huerter for your teams forward

Sacramento has a real team balancing problem. We start off small with Derozan/Keegan at the forward spots. And at this point we've moved to Lyles being the primary backup center, leaving us with essentially no forwards off the bench. Now a backup forward isn't going to fix this issue, but it certainly won't hurt.

We have 3 solid shooting guards on the roster. Monk is closing out games, and Keon should probably start (and doesn't make enough to be a real trade piece currently). So the obvious trade piece here is Huerter.

We've seen all the same old same old. I proposed DFS, someone else proposed Isaac.

Assume that Sac just wants to move Huerter alone or with low tier pieces attached. Feel free to include Colby Jones or 2nds. No Carter or 1sts.

With that in mind, I'm not expecting a great player. They can be old, they can be overpaid. What ya got?

Heurter for DFS? Would even save 2M this year, and maybe extend DFS if he opts out of his PO next summer?

Bobby Portis was my first thought, but Huerter makes more and Milwaukee can't aggregate salaries.

Ironically, Atlanta might be a good fit here with either Hunter or Larry Nance Jr. going to Sacramento.

yeah DFS seems like the obvious choice. The problem is with the added salary, you probably have to "overpay" a bit. 3 2nds? But Doe Doe can make corner 3's, defend multiple positions, and with all the players on the Kings who need/want the ball, he could absolutely care less.

Plus he loves horse so he fits in perfectly in the community....

Curious about Isaiah Stewart, seems like a guy that could push Lyles back to the 4 or play double big.

Yea this is where I'm at. Some Kings fans think DFS is cooked, fans of Brooklyn don't want Huerter. Why I'm trying to see what else is out there.

Couple of other names that come to mind -

Deandre Hunter
Boucher
Isaiah Stewart
Bobby Portis
Zach Collins
Steven Adams

Not sure if any of those teams could use a Huerter though.

You want Grant, You need Grant, he can be had for Huerter\Lyles, a future 1st and a couple of future 2nd's.....
We'll even throw in a b\u center, Reath...

:D

Stewart is definitely a liked name amongst Kings fans. That would solve our size issue. Last year Stewart shot the ball well from 3 which is promising.

Seems like he's been demoted in Detroit. Went from playing 31mpg and starting to 18mpg as the 9th man.

Looking at Detroit roster, they already have a couple guys in Huerters spot in THJ/Beasley. They also don't really have a backup big aside from Reed. Could be tricky to figure that out. Though I love the idea.

I really like both of those ATL names. Huerter was also really good there, and they seem, like a team that has more forwards than guards. Could also use a shooter.

Salaries a bit tricky but Colby Jones + Huerter for Hunter works. Saves ATL some money, keeps Kings under tax line according to fanspo.

Or Nance + Zeller for Huerter.

Either works.

Huerter should be traded for a 3/4 type guy that defends and can shoot not bigs like Portia or Stewart who can guard the likes of lebron and KD. If Huerter is traded for a defender not only is the balance better but Keegan defensive impact becomes better

Personally not a Grant guy and the Kings depth is pathetic. Add in Grant's bloated salary and the fact it pushes Kings into the tax. I think we'd disagree on which way the pick needs to go

Yes we would. I would think Grant & Reath would be more useful to SAC than Huerter & Lyles currently are, but opinions vary.

What you are talking about is ideal. The problem is that kind of player is worth a lot more than just Huerter. Even if we maxed out picks, there really aren't a lot of those guys available on the market.

Portis isn't a defender, but hes a big guy who can rebound and shoot 3s. Stewart is the same, and I think his defense could be good on a better team.

But point of this thread is to throw out names who are attainable and make sense. Who do you suggest?

A Hunter and Nance package deal is close to a home run

We should be all over this Grant can shoot and plays good enough defense our perimeter defense with Keegan/Grant/Fox/Ellis would be very good. We’d be able to match up with teams right now were way too small

No disagreement, they are definitely more useful. But that basically handcuffs are team at
Fox - Derozan - Keegan - Grant - Sabonis
(Carter) - Monk - Keon

We still have the issue of no 3rd playable forward, and the ceiling of this team isn't really higher. If Grant was making 15-20, it would be a much easier sell. As is, his defense hasn't been much above average in years, and he would be our 6th option on offense.

I think there's a trade with Portland that makes sense, but the guys I'm looking at are Thybulle or Williams, and Kris Murray.

Hunter and Nance is probably impossible due to salary limitations. One or the other makes more sense.

We could match both with Huerter, Lyles, and Colby. Maybe remove protections on the 1st we owe them + add in some 2nds? It puts the team into the tax this year and I'm not sure the appetite to do that.

Fox - Derozan - Hunter - Keegan - Sabonis
(Carter) - Monk - Keon - Nance

That's a nice group. Just not sure Kings or ATL would like it.

I'd give as many 2nds as it took personally.

Kings fans think DFS is cooked, I think he needs a chance of scenery. We've seen this story all too many times of good players looking meh on bad teams.
