Lakers receive
Drew Eubanks
Lakers been needing a backup C. Drew and Hayes will rotate minutes and let AD play PF.
Utah Jazz receive:
Jalen Hood-Schifino
Maxwell Lewis
Recent news shows that Jazz is interested in JHS. He would be a good backup or compete for minutes with Sexton and Keyonte George. Both JHS and Lewis (filler) are expiring, so this would be a good cheap trial for Jazz

Re: LAL - Jazz
I'm not sure Eubanks is better than someone they could pick up off the street, but I'm also not convinced that either JHS or Christie [edit: Lewis] hold much value. So sure?

Eubanks is more of a 3rd C, no? And as he's shown that he's not really dependable north of 15 minutes a night, unless Hayes is playing 33+ minutes at C every night, AD will still have to play a ton of C.
And, I think it would be better for LA to just see if JHS and Lewis can provide anything this year. They could still try and re-sign JHS if he does end up showing something, and Lewis is still young and signed to a "rookie contract" for 2 more years after this one (though only $100k gtd). I think they'd be much better off to see if either provide anything?

Re: LAL - Jazz
AD will always play center to close out games, but this is mainly to rotate minutes between Hayes and Eubanks throughout the game. I feel like the lakers gave up on JHS. Instead of letting him rot away might as well trade him for a serviceable Big.

Yah, absolutely. Anything that replaces veterans with young players.

Lakers will try re-sign JHS in offseason over this.

Re: LAL - Jazz
Good for the Jazz to take a flyer on JHS. But, LAL only does this if they have decided he isn't part of their future like Utah did with Agbaji a while back.
But, I suspect Zimpy is right and LAL would prefer to hang onto JHS.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
