Stole this from the Bulls board.

Bulls trade: Zach, Vooch, Craig, Liddell, Phillips ($69,889,832)

Lakers trade: Russell, Rui, Reaves, Vincent, Vanderbilt, 2026 1st pick swap, 2028 1st pick swap, 2029 1st pick, ($70,382,955). All picks unprotected.

Feels a lot closer without the draft picks.

I think Lakers would be the ones getting the picks in this trade

As a Lakers fan, that sounds great. Because of just one player involved, and that one would be Vucevic.

Not one single thing in that Bulls package that warrants a single swap or a pick, let alone unprotected ones

Hey, welcome around here. Just to let you know, we generally require you to post solid reasons each team might do a trade. In this case, it might help you see it’s pretty poor for LA, as Reaves may be the most valuable piece involved, along with LA sending the last of their pick availability? And unprotected? Yikes!

Plus, Liddell is on a two way, so he counts $0 as trade matching, and LA would have to waive a two way player to receive him, and then Chicago would need to waive a main roster player before being able to complete this trade so they can receive all the players back.

Yes the Lakers want to trade their bench for a starter, or in this case 2.
Yes the Bulls want to move on from their two high priced veterans who aren't the present or the future.

But just adding on more players to balance the money is not making a better deal for either side.

Why do the Lakes want to add 5 players from a roster that under produced and only came close to the playoffs for the entire length of time Lavine and Vucevic have been there?

OK the Bulls want to make changes but to improve with players they can use and picks that they'll get.
Giving up Craig and Philips for Hachimura and even Vanderbilt makes sense they start Rui and Patrick Williams becomes the SF instead of Lavine. But getting DLo and Reaves when they still have Giddey, White and Dosunmu makes no sense because there re only 48 guard minutes in a game. Then to make it worse they still have Jevon Carter and add Vincent who take a look are virtual twins except for the contracts. You want the Bulls to have 7 of their 15 roster spots to be guards? Time to wake up

2026 and 2028 pick swaps? So you have the Bulls finishing higher than the Lakers for those to be anything?

You could make an argument LaVine and Vucevic are recouping value after last year's bottoming out. Both are up over 64% true shooting and positive on/offs for Chicago.

I could see the Lakers being interested in either/or, but they're not giving up Reaves AND assets.

The only good thing the Lakers have are the picks.

I'd rather let LaVine and Vucevic keep recouping value than take the Lakers crap.
