Bulls trade - Vuc/Giddy/Duarte/Port pick
Blazers trade - Ayton/2nd round pick

Blazers get Vuc has a cheaper mentor for Clinigan at 20m this year and next. Vuc is also a good passer and does well in the pick and roll or pop. Giddy improves the Blazers PG depth(only have Henderson and are playing Simons a SG at PG) Giddy has improved his 3s
but his defense is horrible but he is expiring. Duarte is a cheap expiring 3 and D guy. Port gets it pick back so now has more
trade options now and in the future.

Basically better cheaper mentor for there young center(Vuc has a 22.8 PER this year) and 14m of expiring contracts.

Bulls get a younger more mobile center in Ayton who with Smith creates a good center rotation.
They get a small asset in a 2nd round pick. Giddy has been solid but his defense has made him unplayable at times
and is not worth more then mid level moving forward.

Take out Giddey, Duarte and the pick from POR.

Ayton is way overvalued in OP.

I'd do this, be nice to get our pick back and given that Giddy and Duarte are expiring they can either be bought out or kept and Vuc can backup Clingan this year and next assuming we will move Timelord. Nice trade

Too good for portland. Giddey definitely has to come out, at the least

Agree with the Blazer fans that this deal is lopsided in their favor. Not sure at all why Chicago wants to spend this much for Ayton.

This is a great offer for Ayton. Blazers would accept, I think.

I have no clue what the Blazer path is with their roster.

Try something closer to Ayton
for
Vucovic, Jevon Carter and the pick back

That fits into the Bulls roster, I don't know what PORT does with Carter as they have easily as many guards as the Bulls. Giddey starts for the Bulls, where would he even get on the floor for PORT?

Giddey would start over Scoot who would be on the bench where he belongs.

Blazers send Ayton to the Bulls

Bulls send Jevon Carter and Chris Duarte to the Lakers and Nikola Vucevic to the Blazers

Lakers send Gabe Vincent to Portland and Jalen Hood-Schifino to the Bulls.

Not sure on draft compensation, just that I don’t think the Lakers would get any.

Blazers add two veterans that could help their younger players. Vincent is bad, but he’s essentially sunk cost for trimming down financially from Deandre to Nikola.

Lakers get a cheaper version of Gabe Vincent and hope for a change of scenery improvement. Duarte being something of a veteran seems like a better fit than the inexperienced Jalen Hood-Schifino. *with Duartes contract and them saving something like $2.4 million, the Lakers could possibly add a 4th team and go after a better player making something like $7.5 million*

Chicago takes a chance that the younger Ayton can turn it around, and take on a player for financial reasons/to get picks for taking him on as well as the expensive Ayton

Not even close.

Vuc is having one of his best seasons yet without DDR here and in a fast pace offense.

Vuc has this and next year at 20M per. No way Bulls touch Ayton unless they are taking the protection off tha pick to top 5 and Bulls get it this year.

LOL.

The idea that the difference between Ayton and Vooch is a lotto pick is rarified air even among RealGMs.

Agreed. That’s why the original proposed trade is crazy. Bulls would never trade for Ayton. They would need something crazy to do it.

Vuc is a lot older but is still better than Ayton. Unfortunately, the Blazers shouldn't get paid to make that swap.

POR pick to POR from CHI.

No, doesn’t make sense. Blazers are already benefiting by splitting Aytons contract and getting a better tradeable center. Blazers would have to add more to get that included

No reason to do it then.

Why would CHI trade Giddey? That does not make sense to me.

Also, both teams are under the luxury tax and I would imagine both teams would want it to remain that way.

Something like:
Vucevic, Duarte, Carter & POR 1st back
for
Ayton & (1) of Walker\Reath\Banton

Ayton is overpaid, but the contract is for just 1 more year after this, I doubt he will be getting anything in that range on his next deal. Ayton BTW is 26yrs old, Vucevic (also contract up after next year) is 34, so getting a younger\comparable center that they likely could resign on a more team-friendly deal, might be appealing to CHI IF...IF...they value\like Ayton.

POR also has to eat a year of Carter's deal (PO for $6.8mil), whom I doubt they would have interest in AND would have to cut a salaried player to make this deal work, unless they could find a 3rd team to offload Duarte or Carter (or even Vucevic for that matter).

DeAndre Ayton
25/26 - Owed $35.5mil

Nikola Vucevic
25/26 - Owed $21.4mil

Ayton career averages
16.6 PPG 10.5 RPG 1.6 APG .9 BPG

Vucevic career averages
17.2 PPG 10.5 RPG 3.2 APG 1 BPG
