ATL in: Claxton, Johnson, Schroder, Thomas.
ATL out: Young, Capela, Bufkin.
Why? Get depth and two fitting pieces next to their core in Thomas/Claxton.
Daniels/Schroder
Thomas/Bogdanovic
Johnson/Hunter
Johnson/Risacher
Claxton/Okongwu
BKN in: Young, Capela, Bufkin.
BKN out: Claxton, Johnson, Schroder, Thomas.
Why? Get a great PG and keeps their 2 max slots (interesting options in Butler/Ingram/Turner/Kuminga/Randle). Still has some interesting prospects (Clowney/Sharpe/Whitehead/Bufkin) and picks (4 1st in this draft alone) to build a contender next year.
Trae/Simmons
Milton/Bufkin
Williams/Whitehead
Bogdanovic/Clowney
Capela/Sharpe
Does any picks need to be thrown out to balance it?

Why is Atlanta trading Trae Young for another center when they have two decent ones and a chucker of a guard looking to get paid off his big counting stats?
This feels really far away in terms of value. Could fix that with picks of course, but why is Brooklyn investing big in Trae Young right now?
I don't really get this one for either side honestly.

Thomas is averaging 46/39/87
By way of comparison, Booker is 43/33/89
Beal is 47/38/80
Lillard is 41/30/94
Maxey is 44/35/90
If Thomas is a chucker then he’s not a bad one

Gosh no ! Keep Trae far away from here please. CamT is almost as good of a scorer if not better already at his young age. He's definitely not the passer Trae is but he's alot bigger and not a mannequin on defense at least. It really wouldn't make much sense to put Trae on a rebuilding team

Trading for a player who left your city and team on bad terms typically isn't the wisest move. Neither is trading for a guy who had a cheap, hard foul and almost got into a fight with a guy who are trying to build around (after the trade obviously).

I understand that Trae Young's value is not high. But it isn't this low.

Best passer for worst (most uninterested) passer isn’t a recipe, imo…Thomas might be a fun 6th man bucket getter, but he’s a long way from a building block…he makes Poole look like CP3

Hideously bad for ATL. Those Nets guys dont have the value to net Young

I think Claxton + Kobe Jr. > Trae by a slight amount because of their ages and progression estimates. Trae has hit his peak which is a low-end star. They might end up being more than that combined.
