ORL/CHI...free Zach, turn the page CHI

ORL sends: KCP (or Isaac), Gary Harris, Cole Anthony, DEN 25 frp, ORL 25 srp
CHI sends: Zach Lavine
I'd prefer to send KCP, so it could be done as soon as Dec 15th...plus, I think Isaac is a huge part of our potential playoff success and KCP plays the same spot as Zach and I love Isaac's steep descending contract...but I'd do Isaac, if needed. I'd add srps or even another protected first if it's KCP rather than Isaac.
For CHI: Either way, instant defensive identity-shift. KCP is a very complementary backcourt partner for Coby & Giddey - bringing elite defense, vet presence & 3pt threat. Isaac, in theory, is a very nice frontcourt complement to offensive-minded Vuc. They are happy to move on from Zach's deal (either way) while they re-shuffle around younger guys, financial flexibility, and draft equity.
For ORL: Buckets from the backcourt. Elite 3-level scorer playing at his career best level. ORL sacrifices some of their overwhelming defensive depth, but more than accommodates by having a truly great BIG 3 on the other end. Anthony Black's offensive growth plays a part in making KCP expendable as he can get serious minutes as 3rd guard and play with either Suggs or Lavine. Black's size and defense compares well with what KCP brings. If things mesh well, this could vault ORL into ECF mix as soon as this year. ORL still retains a frp this summer and all future frps. Lavine has a BIG contract, but ORL sends out most of it with KCP & Cole's guaranteed deals...after maxing Paolo, they fill in with vet mins (like all contenders do). WCJ can flourish with the second unit, playing both 4 & 5 at times, and maximize his longevity with fewer overall minutes. Isaac plays, depending on matchups, anywhere from 3-5. ORL can lock down anyone but they need a guard that can go toe to toe with the Mitchell's of the world on occasion.

Value is more than fair, I just don't see the Magic actually doing this.

seems lackluster as an all in move for orlando (pay roll wise)

Lavine the archetype makes sense, his contract doesn’t.
This pushes Orlando into the 2nd apron and cripples any type of future flexibility.
Orlando loses a lot of defensive depth that plays a part to their identity.
The pick is overkill.
A lot more realistic options out there. Don’t think Orlando brings on another max player unless it’s clear that acquisition pushes them into contention.

Makes a lot of sense.

Lavine looks great this year. Solid on D and elite on offense. I think Orl makes sense-his shooting/scoring would open things up, and he's still in his prime
For the Bulls, it's part of a teardown-looks like another Playin year in Chicago, which we don't need

I think this makes much more sense.
I think ORL could have their pick of Simons, Sexton or White with that package. Not sure who they would choose.

A lot of good points in this thread. I do like Zach as a scorer, but Orlando also needs someone who can run the offense, and he isn't that. I would keep my powder dry for a better option. Lavine helps but the opportunity cost is too high with current roster needs.

Yes, this is the way.
However, I would tinker the details a little.
Cole Anthony
Jett Howard
‘25 FRP via Denver
‘26 SRP via DET/MIL
For
Coby White
Chris Duarte

Absolutely...I'd much prefer Coby if that's a possibility. I hate giving up Jett but I would for Coby and we'd need to shed some salary...
We'd have to move Cole out somehow...perhaps in another deal. His "team-friendly" deal isn't so attractive when he gets buried in the rotation (or out of it)...but I do think Cole can contribute somewhere (probably not CHI with Giddey and Ayo and Lonzo)

I used to agree and wouldn't touch Zach with a 10 foot pole...Anthony Black's emergence as a playmaker and defender is the biggest reason I'm feeling a LOT better about Franz & Paolo being the primary playmakers (with AB able to pick up some)...the ORL offense just needs someone other than those two who can put the damn ball in the hole.

I think that Lavine's price tag is much lower. If it isn't, he won't get traded.

Make it Isaac and the Bulls do it. Yeah Lavine does what he does for ORL would it be too much for you to look beyond the salaries on the trade machine for the Bulls
Zach is currently playing the SF, mainly because the Bulls have too many guards now. So when you think to send them Harris, Anthony and and KCP how many guards do you think they should have on the roster? Well you're not thinking.
Isaac makes it right. He starts at the 4, Williams slides to the 3 where the Bulls envisioned him but where he's never played. Anthony looks for the few minutes off the bench behind White and Giddey, with Dosunmu and a healthy Ball ahead of them in all honesty. Harris maybe finds some backup SF minutes if he can do better than Giddey and Ball there.
Thus, the Bulls need the two picks to take on 2 players that are excess.

If I’m Orlando I make the same exact offer to Utah for Collin sexton and Jordan Clarkson and it would make more sense team and cap wise

Ainge doesn't send out Sexton for one late frp and take on guaranteed salary...no interest in Clarkson. Zach is far more explosive a scorer and much bigger than both of those guys...Zach has his issues of salary and injury history which is the only reason they're even listening.

Washington has Brogdon who is strong both offensively and defensively and finally healthy. Send a 1st and KCP and you can probably get him. Then we'll see if we can deal KCP.

define strong offensively? Brogdon is scoring 11 points per game on 46/20/82 shooting splits with a TS% of 55.5%

I like Brogdon...but that's several tiers down from this conversation...maybe Cole and a DEN frp, if he shows he's physically up to playing. Historically, Brogdon is an excellent player and would have been a good fit. KCP is far more valuable than Brogdon at this stage, given his injuries and expiring salary. I'd give more for Schroeder today and I would offer Cole and DEN frp for him. Brogdon...maybe the same offer if he's healthy and excited about the role.
