ATL/ORL

Would ATL entertain this? They seem to be at some kind of crossroads-sinking fast, but not enough to blow it up…

ATL sends: Bogdan Bogdonavic
ORL sends: Cole Anthony, Jett Howard, DEN 25 frp

For ATL:
Bogi is 32 and his numbers are off this season, but it may be a reflection of his whole team …he’s been a solid, good-sized combo guard forever. I’d think ATL knows their timeline just moved out of his and a young prospect and current year frp might do it. They probably wouldn’t want Cole, but the other assets are the key. Cole might just have a renaissance as 2nd unit Trae…he’s still very young & hungry and seems like a candidate for a fresh start somewhere. Dyson Daniels is starting next to Trae, so they don’t really have a backup PG.

For ORL:
Their time may have come sooner than expected and that extra pick is timely. Bogi may be in decline, but the fit is solid. Hurts to move Jett, who is clearly a special shooter in the making (and maybe more) but he’s a luxury at this point. Cole is a great teammate but is also, increasingly, finding himself odd man out.

Actually think thats an overpay by Orl. Atlanta should take it if offered

Bogi has been hurt and only played 6 games. A little too early to say he’s been off this year…way too small of sample. Hawks backup PG is Kobe Bufkin (just came back from inj as well) also FWIW. Agree it’s an overpay with his age/inj concerns.

Happy to take Jett out if that’s still palatable…how significant is Bogi’s injury?

is he? 35% from 3 on 3 attempts a game?

Jett is pretty much a bust and Cole is negative value at this point

I read your reply before I saw who wrote it...I can't believe it was written by a regular ORL fan who might even follow them.

Jett has lots to work on - but he is very clearly a quick-release, high-volume 3pt shooter. Trae Young is presently at .325 - tell me you're leaving him open too. There's plenty to critique about Jett (or, more likely, how he's been handled or his fit in ORL) but he's a shooter.

Too early to call Jett a bust. But perfectly timely to call Bogdanovich overpaid and a complete liability on D

Bogi played the first game, then was out awhile with a hamstring injury, he's been back playing the last 5 games.

teams that leave Young open are smart, he isnt a good 3 pt shooter, just a volume shooter. and he has shot Atlanta out of just as many games as he has shot them into. I dont see this quick shot from Jett and he is not an elite shooter in the NBA, at not yet. I just dont see him that "special"

I rather save firsts for a bigger upgrade than Bogi. Pass.

Who you thinking? I’d certainly prefer a star too…two picks THIS summer or do you just keep pushing it down the road…

I could see NOLA folding, possibly even SAC, in addition to the tankers (POR, UTA, BRK, WAS) who else might be open for a sale and which players would help…better than Bogi or Schroder, or Simons, etc

Trae always starts seasons slow % wise and picks it back up. Pretty ridiculous to say he isn’t a good shooter or should be left open by just by small sample % plus to ignore volume as well. 37%+ from 3 in 2 of the last 3 seasons on high volume. (And in 22/23 when he shot 33% from 3 - he ended the season 37% from 3 in his last 47 games) Also Trae isn’t shooting them out of games consistently or anything when Hawks usually have a top 10 offense. The problem has always been on the other end for Trae and the hawks….he hasn’t shot well yet is still a very positive offensive player.

Doesn't make sense for Atlanta. They're not tanking.

Getting good value for a bench player with no real future with the team is pretty much always a good idea for a team whose ceiling is 1st round exit. Tanking or not, this team just isn't that good. So build your asset base towards getting a franchise player they need.

Actually agree it's a good value for Bogi.

Edit: CA has been horrific. Howard is a project who just likes to shoot, Hawks have that already with Zacc and Hunter who have more layers to their game. The value here is the pick which falls somewhere in the mid 20s, pass.

This board's obsession with "value" is hilarious.

Rather keep Jett and the pick. Thats too much for 32yo guard coming off multiple injuries. If that were more for Donte D then it would be good deal.

he really isnt. he is a career 35% from 3. that is below league averages, let alone for guards.
