Cavs get: Patrick Williams, Dalen Terry and Adam Sanogo
Bulls get: Max Strus, Jaylon Tyson, Emoni Bates, '30 pick swap, '31 unprotected first and 2 2nds ('25 Bucks, '27 Nuggets)
Why?
Cavs add size on the wing.
Bulls get a solid rebuilding package.

Don't see anything here worth giving up an unprotected first for.

That is a crazy overpay for PAtrick Williams. A team should never trade an unprotected first and an unprotected swap plus for him. I'm not sure he's even an upgrade on Strus is he?

Williams is an upgrade defensively. Strus hasn't even played this season, don't know how well he'll fit in Atkinson's system.

The Bulls just flat out PASS. They get some unproven rebuilding pieces, they give up by your definition size on the wing for 3 count em up 3 guards. Now I take it you think Torrey Craig starts and Julian Phillips had made the gains to be the first PF off the bench for significant minutes
Put where former Bull Struss with as much as he makes for as long as he makes fits in with Lavine, White, Giddey, Dosunmu, Ball, and even THT. for guard minutes, and then ask why you're holding onto Jevon Carter and Chris Duarte. Just because the salaried match on the trade machine doesn't mean it's a good trade

If the Bulls are going to blow it up, this is a good trade for them imo. That said, I respect your opinion.

Would you change your mind if it was LeVert (expiring) instead of Strus?

I mean anytime you can get at journeyman wing who averages less than 10p and 5rb per game at low cost of a starter, a promising wing you just drafted in the first round, and unprotected 1st, and an unprotected swap you've got to do it.
Seriously though, this is borderline unhinged and the Cavs won't be doing anything like this in real life.

You forgot about how you gotta pay the journeyman more than your starter because he just got an embarrassingly large contract for his production.

Chicago might pass, not cus this isn't hugely on their side, value wise, but because they want to treadmill as the 9th seed.
Hell, if you want to turn Strus into an expiring, those two seconds would easily do it. Say, a PJ Tucker, De'Anthony Melton. Or shave off a year with a Maxi Kleber.
Getting a better prospect, even if it's slightly and I'm a huge Terry fan, a high variable future first and a high variable first swap, while turning Williams to an expiring or two year. I just can't see how Chicago would actually say no.

There are Cavs fans who think the Cavs desperately need another big wing to guard Tatum and Paolo. Sadly they often look at body shape and not technical capability.
But when Dean Wade and Max Strus are out, they do have some point there.
Still not a reason to make a bad lopsided trade.

I mean both Tatum and Banchero play PF which just happens to be Mobley's position. The problem is the Cavs need a backup PF for when one of Allen/Mobley rests and Wade is out (and Wade's out a lot).

But we don't even like to keep Mobley on them. We will put him on a less-talented shooter so he can camp out in the paint and help. And when Allen is out, Mobley's playing C exclusively.
And both teams could shift to playing bigger when healthy.
