Cavs get: Patrick Williams and Dalen Terry
Bulls get: Simone Fontecchio, Georges Niang and 2 2nds ('25 Bucks, '27 Nuggets).
Pistons get: Max Strus

Why?
I feel like this trade benefits all sides. Cavs need size at the wing, they address that in this trade.

Chicago dumps Patrick Williams, who just signed a pretty juicy 5-year contract. They also get some good role players and a couple 2nd rounders, and finally, they save some money.

Detroit adds a veteran shooter who played for Bickerstaff.

Hate it for pistons

Vuc, Niang, and Fontecchio gives the Bulls 3 stretch bigs who struggle defensively. They're not handicapping their roster that way for a couple of seconds. If they really want to get off of P. Williams deal (I'm a little skeptical), they'll want LeVert's expiring contract

The cleanest iteration of this is to cut out the Pistons and send Strus (or LeVert) to the Bulls for P. Williams but they probably need to move off of Lavine first.

From the Cavs perspective, Mobley's extension kicks in next summer and none of LeVert, Ty Jerome, nor Merrill are under contract. If they trade Strus now, they'll probably regret it. Also, there's no real evidence that P. Williams will be a better option than Strus in the playoffs. He's just taller.

Patrick Williams is an awful contract and no team should want him at the money he is making. He’s like Okoro except the Chicago has tried to give him opportunities.

I rather have fontecchio instead if i was pistons. They have a glut of SGs already

If Terry is anything other than tall, and he only averages 4 ppg in 14 minutes, the Bulls won't include him. If his only attribute is his height, he'll never get on the floor. Williams isn't so much inconsistent as consistently meh. I happen to think making the other team's best players work on defense is pretty important.

We have Okoro already and it's tough to close with him due to his offensive limitations. It's why we went out and got Strus.

Bulls are not in dumping mode when it comes to Williams. He's hurt again so he hasn't had this chance to show he can play the 4 yet. The VP and GM that drafted him #4 are not going to make themselves look like idiots but dumping the first big move they made for dirt. They want to get him on the floor and let their futures hinge on him playing or not but they aren't just going to give up. Now should Kanasovas and Everly get fired the next 2 guys might want to clean house.

Nailed it: Strus would be competing for court time with 3 recent #5 picks (Ivey, Ausar, Holland), and Beasley has been surprisingly effective on a bargain deal. While I'm not going to make claims about what the young guys will turn into, the last thing I want to do is delay their development by clogging up the SG/SF rotation.
