Russell + Vincent for McCollum

LAL trades: D'Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Christian Wood, 2025 LAC 2nd
NOP trades: CJ McCollum, Karlo Matkovic, Antonio Reeves
LAL gets a guard who fits with LeBron better than D'Lo and is simply a better player. NOP cuts McCollum's salary next year down by 2/3rds in swapping him for Vincent and Russell and pulls the plug on the season (as they should).

LAL is taking back more than they are sending out in OP.

Well, now I know not to trust the ESPN trade machine. Works with JHS, so subbing him in.

It actually looks like if they do JHS + Wood on the 15th NOP could send back Matkovic and Reeves and it works.

Not horrible....but why?
CJ doesnt help our guard defense
Dlo is still a good playmaker and he leads us in +- b/c we are at our best when we have actions that involve some sort of playmaking
If we arent willing to take on a guy who has multiple years currently, I want us to push in the chips for Jimmy or go and get Lonzo/Ben Simmons as an expiring

In order of priorities, the Lakers need:
A. starting level 2-way wing(s)
B. fringe starter/quality back up center
C. legitimate third option
D. POA Guard defender that can play on and off ball
CJ would be a better 3rd option than any player on the Laker roster but I think a wing or center that can stabilize the defense is a bigger priority.

I'd just say that this is a trade that doesn't really impact the others. The Lakers still have filler, and they still have all the assets they had before the deal.

Well what are the other deals with this one happening?
Now we have less salary to work with in terms of a deal

What assets get all that?
